Could use some vibes

I got called back for a second job interview tomorrow. 8th grade English, miles closer to what I want to do than the job I have lined up for the fall. It is just me and one other person in the running now.

I'm pretty sure being a former IN is what got me this callback. She wanted to talk a lot about Prague and when she called me afterwards she mentioned that one of the things they like is that I have an interesting background. I'm trying not to get too excited about this finally being the place where I get off the "need experience to get a job, need a job to get experience" wheel.

So life being a rollercoaster... A couple hours after finding out I have a follow up interview tomorrow my Dad was looking for a backpack in the basement. He found one behind the couch full of empty wine and vodka bottles. Some of you probably remember that my brother, who is staying with my parents for the summer, was in rehab for alcohol in July.

He denied it was his when my Dad asked him about it. My parents have made it clear that they aren't angry, upset, or want him to not go back to school in the fall, but he still says it wasn't him. I would love to believe him, but I just can't imagine who else would be hiding empty bottles. He's stopped going to AA meetings and seeing his therapist (which I didn't know, I'm surprised my parents didn't push that more). This is definitely a step back and I worry about him going back to his isolated, quiet school in a couple of weeks. But I also think living with my parents is really stressing him out, so best case senario he finds his equilibrium again at school. I can't say any of this is surprising, I can't imagine how hard it must be for him. He's young and these things will happen. I can just hope for the best I guess.

So I could use some vibes for life in general I guess,

Re: Could use some vibes

  • Firstly, good luck with the interview!  I've had interviews based on being an IN with an interesting history as well.  Its great when a school sees that as an advantage (so many don't really care too much about experience outside their board/country).

I hope that going to school will help your brother.  It might keep him busy enough and give him direction.

  • Good luck with the second interview! From what you said, it sounds very promising!

I wish the best for your brother. School might give him the balance that he needs to battle his addiction.

Lots of vibes being sent your way.

  • Fingers crossed for your job and your brother.  I remember my college years.  They are tough.  You're trying to figure out who you are while still wanting to be who you were.  It is a lot of pressure.
  • Vibes all around.
  • Goodluck with the interview & I hope your brother sorts himself out soon!

  • Lots of vibes being sent your way!!
  • Sending you lots of vibes that everything works out. I had a really hard time at the beginning of uni and it really did help to have something to focus on with classes and everything. This might be just what he needs.

  • Lots of interview, brother, and life in general vibes! You will do great!
  • First off, lots of fantastic interview vibes!  You bring a unique experience with you, which is awesome :)

Vibes for your brother too. It is really scary to watch your loved ones go through problems like addiction, knowing there is relatively little you can do.  Hopefully, he will find his way soon.

And finally, some life in general vibes, and some hugs too :)
