Re: IN Get Fit Challenge

  • Down 13 pounds!!  I've started slacking on my water intake, so I need to bump that back up, but otherwise I've been pretty good about eating healthy!  My next big goal is to make sure I don't blow it all on our cruise in a few weeks.

QOTD:  I love Lentils.  Lentil curry is amazing!

  • I'm doing OK.  Last week I was a lazy bum but I've been swimming and going to the driving range this week.

QOTD:  This is a good question because I've really been considering going back to being a vegetarian recently.  I just don't know that I trust the quality of meat and the way animals are raised here.

One of my go-to favorites is a whole-wheat tortilla burrito with brown rice, black beans, sauteed veggies, a little salsa, and maybe some homemade guac if I feel like making it.

Oh, that sounds awesome!!  Yeah, we will probably go more vegetarian once we move home, unless we can find a reputable place to buy meat.

  • I've been doing really well, and I am starting to feel that my work is paying off.  I am starting to feel more tone. Yay!

QOTD:  I love my black bean casserole.

  • I did some exercises as my son looked on, but I haven't been to the gym in months. I hurt my knee real bad a while back and just don't have an excuse for why I haven't gone since it stopped hurting.

QOTD: What Pub wrote sounds delicious.

    Can you share the recipe?

  • Good morning! I'm really struggling with running right now so can you please take me off this list? I am just trying to focus on eating decently and trying to stay healthy right now :-)

I cannot think straight today! That didn't come out how I wanted at all.

Please just change it to Pitt: eat healthy and stay active

QODT: I am totally in love with quorn products here. I try not to eat much meat and it's a really fantastic substitute. DH makes a quorn stir fry which is super yummy.

  • Hey all.  I'm not doing too well, Italy is not easy on the waistline.  Especially since it is over 100 F and not only are we without A/C, we don't even have fans in the house!  Add a gelato place on every corner and staying with FH's aunt who keeps trying to feed us massive meals every 2 hours and we have a fat Jetur.

On a positive note, I managed to work out Sunday, Monday and today, which is pretty good since we got here on Saturday afternoon after only getting 2 hours of sleep.  So I'm proud of myself for that.

QOTD:  Quinoa or bulgur with kidney beans, corn, peppers, carrots, onions, tomatoes and feta cheese.  Or a fried rice quinoa which is basically the same as above but you throw in some eggs and soy sauce and fry it a bit in a wok.

  • I've slacked on working out since getting back to France. I'm planning to go for a swim this afternoon.

My friends and H have noticed that I've slimmed down! It feels so good.

    QOTW: Daal.

  • I'm doing well. No huge weight loss but I'm eating exceptionally well and running six days a week with ab work and weights. I feel great after a run but I would love to see a weight drop by mid September. I'd love one dress size to drop by then and a second by late October. QOTD: I love curried spinach, vegan sausage and veg risotto. I always have a cabbage/carrot/celery/parsley/chilli salad in the fridge too.
  • Still not motivated to work out. I'm not happy with my shape, but I have no idea what to do to get myself out of this rut. I'm tired all the time and just feel blah. I'm trying to up my water intake and eat healthier. I guess I need to purge my cupboards again and start over.

The junk food that DH keeps in the house keeps calling to me. I'm afraid to even look at the scale.

QOTD: Veg stir fry. Beansprouts, baby young corn, sugar snap peas, broccoli, bok choy and water chestnuts stir fried with a little sesame oil, rice wine vinegar and soy sauce.

  • Can you change me from the Spartan Sprint to something like "exercise to compensate for becoming a wino"?

After my spinning "injury" I took a month off from working out.  Hopefully I will get back to teaching soon, but right now I've just been doing a bit of running and playing around with free weights at home.  Hoping to get into some hiking now that the weather is cooling off.

QOTD: Loving what Pub suggested!  I enjoy making veggies with red sauce over a bit of pasta (pepper, onions, mushrooms) or a veggie lasagna with eggplant for noodles

  • I've been a bad, bad girl. I decided not to worry while we're on our honeymoon and my body feels like crud because of it. Well, that or maybe it was the beer in Vegas last night.

I'll get back on track once I get back to Spain!
