Re: WTF Wednesday
Our office is in an old house, so our driveway runs alongside our neighbors house.
I pulled into the drive way this morning (same speed an manner as I have for the past year and a half), got out of my car and heard someone screaming at me. It was the next door neighbor:
"You need to drive slower when you are pulling into that drive way! You have neighbors who have kids, we have kids! YOU CANNOT GO SO FAST"
No joke, I was going like 5 miles an hour when I pulled in. I had to turn 90 degrees from the road to the driveway (which is a loose gravel driveway) so it isn't even possible to go that fast! I couldn't even see where she was because she was inside her house yelling out a window. I just told her I was sorry, when she kept going I was just like I apologize!
I am by no means a fast driver, and I know for a fact I wasn't going that fast going into MY OWN DRIVEWAY. When another girl pulled in she yelled at her too and told her to go slow and she also said "tell that girl in the blue durango (me), that she needs to slow down! She peeled into the driveway this morning". The lack of screeching or rubber marks on the driveway indicates this is not the case.
I completely understand being concerned for your kids when they are playing outside, and not wanting people to exceed the speed limit and put them at risk. I have a lot of concern for the kids in the houses around my office and I always say hi and smile and wave. For her to freak out, at 8am when there were no people outside, and when I know she is exaggerating just makes me say WTF?
First that lady hanging out the window sounds a little crazy!!
WTF hurricane why do you have to ruin my vacation. I'm afraid to go and leave my house unattended (water damage issues) and I'm afraid to stay and be stuck without power and anything else. I can't make a decision and my usual travel anxiety is at an all time high. I'm so overwhelmed and no one seems to understand. (sorry that sounded more like a vent)
You have to have to have to go! I am sorry that you are feeling so anxious about everything. It is never a good feeling when you are so torn both ways. But if the storm takes a turn on Friday afternoon into the Atlantic you are going to be pretty PO'ed if you stayed home for nothing! The storm will be in our neck of the woods on Sunday or Monday, so you should be home by then right? I hope you feel better soon!
I totally get how you feel, that's a horrible feeling. But I agree with Breanne! Go and enjoy your vacation!
I hope Stupid Irene doesn't ruin my weekend plans as well. It's my friend's bachelorette in New Hope, PA and I really don't want to drive home from PA in the rain and wind on Sunday. Let's hope it goes out to sea!!!
Breanne, it sounds like the earthquake shook a few screws loose in that ladies head!
@Laurie: You NEED to go! Have your mom check on your house or something like that if in fact Irene does hit.
YTF did I throw up last night after not throwing up for a week! I am praying that I only have a few weeks left of this!

Laurie you HAVE to go! Like Mel said, your mom or someone else can always check on your house if it even hits - which it might not. Dont' worry about your flight because it doesn't look like it's going to Orlando at all, so flying-wise you'll be safe. Please enjoy your vacation!

WTF Cardinals...you are falling apart. First you lose to the Pirates, then to the Cubs then the Dodgers embarassed you last night winning 13-1 and today you are losing 6-1. WTF!!!!!
