Baby shower location in Philly?

I live in Virginia, but am helping my mom organize my sister's baby shower, so I am not really familiar with locations in Philadelphia.  My mom lives in Delaware County which I am much more familiar with as I grew up there, but my sister lives in NE Philadelphia.  Any ideas for baby shower locations for around 60 guests (her husband's family is HUGE).  We've considered Knowlton Mansion and Glen Foerd (both are pretty pricey) and some other banquet halls in the NE, but my mom and I are not familiar with that area and were hoping to find something closer to 76 and City Line Avenue area.

All I can think of is the Manayunk Brewery and will be calling for info.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks!

Re: Baby shower location in Philly?

  • I actually helped my boss plan an event a few years back, and we decided on Popi's Restaurant in South Philly.  It is not too far from the sports complex and was easily accesible for people who were coming from many different places (close to 76 and 95), which is what we were looking for.  My bridal shower was also held there.  They offer a sit down or a buffet menu.

Also, there is a place called Galdo's which is literally right across the street which is also good.

    Good luck!
