Re: A conversation
We're there, too. Apparently there's a sleep regression between 18 and 20 months, and Nate finds it necessary to get us in the habit of living off caffeine and adrenaline before baby brother is born.
I'm really glad I don't have to go work like this.
Rachel-My nephew totally regressed at 18 mos. It gets better.
Kristen- Ugh..NOT looking forward to teething
IDK what Ava's problem is/was. She's captain fussy and maybe she's just overtired but I am wicked cranky today.
Rachel - are you telling me that I may have some sleepless nights ahead of me? Lol.
I guess I shouldn't complain that Carly was up at 5:30 am to eat... but's it's the first she STTN in a week. Sigh. But yesterday was also her first day w/o a fever, poor thing.
Jax, your "convo" cracked me up though!
Yeah. I think it is some kind of step in separation anxiety. I read something yesterday that said most kids go through a refusing to sleep phase at this age. But it also said that the phase blows over and things go back to normal regardless of how the parents handle it. I was afraid that rocking Nate to sleep when he's like this would spoil him, but I'm banking on that blog post being right because sometimes it's the only way to get him to sleep. Sometimes there's no way to get him to sleep though. He's very stubborn.
The past two nights he's slept for a few hours, then been up for 4-5 hours, screaming unless he's being held. He did sleep in our bed for about an hour last night, but freaked out so much when I got up to pee (he had been sleeping cuddled up next to me) that Rodgers took him into his own room, and they both slept on the floor eventually.
We've decided to divide the night into shifts like we did when he was newborn until this is over. I'll take the first shift, and Rodgers takes over from me at 3 am.

Ugh.
We have been STTN, but Robert has been cranky all day long and refusing to nap. If I'm not holding him, he is screaming.
I just want to cry.
****closes eyes*****
It's supposed to get BETTER damn it!
This. LALALA I can't hear you!
