Choosing a credit card for the me.

Hey ladies, MH has an American Express credit card that gets us good rewards especially for flights. I need to get a credit card since we have a lot of flights to find for November and December and I want to surprise MH with a hotel night. I am looking for a credit card that will be helpful with my type of spending. I mostly pay for dining out, clothes, and groceries. Any ideas??? Thanks.

Re: Choosing a credit card for the me.

  • I love my chase rewards card. I get double points for dining out and travel.
  • I love both my AAdavantage Citi Card and my discover card. I use my AA citi card mostly when I book travel and when I go out to eat. They have an AA dining program so you get up to 5 points for every $1 spent at a restaurant that participates in it. You can get bonus points for signing up and occasionally they have bonus offers. It's a lot of local, non-chainy places that participates. So if you eat out a lot at local places and want to book travel with the card, I would check it out.

I like my discover card for everyday spending. Every season they offer 5% cashback on various spending. I think right now it's hotels and gas. Also, you can get 1% on everything else. Also, they have a lot of offers that you can also get cashback like buying something through them to get something you were going to buy online anyway. We ended up booking our honeymoon from NCL through discover so we got cashback.

Good luck, hope this helps. There's a yearly fee for the citi card but my discover is totally free. I've had my discover for years and really like the flexibilty and all the offers.

  • I am of no help because I do not have any credit cards.  Maybe I should though for rewards....hmmm.
