Flooring Question

So, just this morning, I looked down at our floor and noticed some marks on the ceramic tiles.  Long thin marks.  That were actually cracks.  I don't know if we dropped something on them or if this a little foundation business (we're buying a soaker hose today/tomorrow).  What I really need is some flooring recs.  We're actually talking about the whole house although maybe not all at one time.

Re: Flooring Question

  • This happened to me- turned out to be foundation- we have tile all downstairs and wood floors upstairs- and when the tile downstairs craked so did the wood floors we ended up getting foundation fixed and thought we would just fix tile where it was cracked since foundation was but you allways risk it cracking again - which it did with this heat so carpet it was. Do you have stress cracks by doors?
  • We used Forever Floors out here by my house.  Not sure if it's worth the drive out here though.  I have a friend that asked for recs on FB and several people suggested Floor and Decor.
  • Thanks, Stephanie!  I'll keep those two in mind.  We bought soaker hoses last night and some sort of timer and Bill's going to put those out later today.  He says we have some sort of foundation that flexes but, of course, tile doesn't flex.
  • This heat is killer on foundations I'm sure.  Have you seen any cracks going up your walls?

No, no cracks.  Bill says that we have some sort of "floating" foundation which is supposed to take this better.  However, tiles are not floating or squishy.

That's good regarding the foundation :)  I'm sorry you have cracks on your tile though
