Wedding planning again!

One of my girlfriends sent me a text while she was on vacation with her boyfriend this week, followed by an email. He proposed to her on the edge of a pier in North Carolina, and since she's got so many allergies, he proposed with a shark tooth necklace. Makes sense, knowing her, and they're going to research together to find the perfect ring, but til then, she's got something to wear that won't make her break out.

She's asked me to help plan, and says she wants to go with the beach theme since that's where he proposed. I'm so excited for them, and the fact that I get to hop into the planning process again!

Re: Wedding planning again!

  • Fun!  I miss wedding planning so much!  And unfortunately all of my friends are married :(  Enjoy going through it all again!  How exciting that she's asked you for help!

  • Oh that's a cute idea, with the shark tooth.

Have fun with helping your friend plan!

  • She's always wanted a winter wedding, but since he proposed on the beach, now she's wanting a beach theme. The final outcome? She's chosen to get married on January 19th (MLKJ day weekend) so she can still get married in the winter, and have the beach theme like she wants. She found a lot of shells while they were at the beach, so we're going to incorporate those.

Feel free to plunge in with ideas if you have any. Her colors are light blue, tan, a blue-green shade, and wants to incorporate black somehow.

  • my friend had a beach themed wedding, it was very cute! you could make some beachy signs to post around the ceremony/reception site!
  • Yay for your friend and yay that you get to help wedding plan!  I miss it terribly and keep trying to find new ways to fill that void lol...

Hmm I'm trying to think how she could include black.  What about black tableclothes and then have the centerpieces be something that includes white sand and really pretty flowers?  I think the dark tableclothes would really make the sand/beachy elements pop, but that's just my opinion.  I wanted black tableclothes at our wedding originally and was told no by my Mom and DH.
