So what do they normally do at the monthly Dr checks when pregnant? Weight check, doppler check for HB? Answer any questions, etc. Anything else? I know its probably different for some but just wondering. I have my next appt tomorrow. I just had an US last week due to some spotting, which turned out fine.
Re: Monthly checks
Mine are: Weight check, BP check, fetal heart beat, going over any upcoming tests (NT scan, Glucose test, etc...) and any questions. Pretty quick unless there is a new question to go over. This was par for both my previous OB office out of state as well as for the midwives I went to with #1 as well as now.
Once I hit 32 weeks my appts got longer-going over any L&D anxities, help with getting a birth plan together, etc....
Mine are: Weight check, BP, fetal heartbeat, fundal height (after 20ish weeks), ultrasound, questions. I'm in and out in less than 15 minutes.
My OB's office standard is ultrasound at each appointment though which is different than most I assume.
At 32 weeks NSTs start for me but I don't know if that is standard/common either.
Ohhh...I have to leave a sample at every appt. I think they have had me do that from the beginning.
Oh yeah, and pee in a cup at every appt and fundal height-I think mine started around 14 weeks with this pregnancy???
I'm going to blame the forgetfulness of a 2 am wake up call from the kiddo....
I usually pair that with being pregnant and forgetful in the first place, you are warranted for the 2am wake up
This for me as well. And I had to do a pee sample. I didn't pee in a cup though, they just had test strips that we had to pee on every appointment to check protein levels and one other things (I can't remember for the life of me!)
I'd go in, weight check, pee on the strip, blood pressure, ultrasound to check baby's size, weight and heartbeat, go over any upcoming tests/procedures, questions, done. My appointments were usually about 20 minutes max. =]
I never had a NST with N. I agree with weight, BP, fundal height, pee in a cup, questions, etc...only had three ultrasounds (8 wks, 13 wks, 18 wks).
