Pepco

I admit I don't know the answer to this, but maybe someone else does. Can Maryland "fire" Pepco and bring in another company to be the electric power supplier? If they can, I don't understand why this hasn't been done.

Re: Pepco

  • Doesn't Pepco own the local grid - the lines in the neighborhoods and the transmission facilities?  I can't imagine another company coming in and building a second network.

The state Public Service Commission should have the ability to fine the utility for perfomance issues and set requirements for improved service standards.  I don't understand why they either haven't done it or, if they have, it hasn't been more effective.
