Today is the beginning of Limeades for Learning, which is sponsored by Sonic and is partnered with Donors Choose.
Evidently, they chose to fully fund some of the projects as a way to start off the program, and they chose mine! They also chose a project by our media specialist, who has had multiple projects funded through Donors Choose.
I will now have journalism textbooks for the first time in 6 years. The books I had before were printed in 1993. I'm so freaking excited! We were interviewed on camera. It was like Publisher's Clearing House. I was so stunned I might as well have been in my pj's at my doorstep. I'm pretty sure they got a picture of me with my mouth agape in shock because I had no idea this could happen.
AGGGHHHHH!!!!! I'm also so happy for the media specialist. She has done so much here and is just a total sweetheart. We actually thought we were both in trouble when we were told the principal needed to see us :P

Um, evidently it was already on and I missed it! It was on Channel 4
They chose 8 projects from three schools in the metro. I feel special!
Please do not judge my journalism teaching skills by the likely awful interview I gave lol. I had already been up forever since I had a drumline sectional at 7:15 and they completely surprised us. I was scared out of my wits to be in front of the camera and could only think, "Do I look at the guy or the camera? Why did I wear this awful dress? Do I just stand here and smile like an idiot?"
Awesomeness! Donors Choose is one of my favorite charities to support.
