Bump Check-In

How's it going this week ladies?

I ordered Baby Bargains and it arrived today.  So, let the research commence.  I'm already overwhelmed by everything and I haven't even really even started yet.

I have an appointment tomorrow for my 10 week b/w and I guess that they are going to talk to me about doing the NT scan.  I don't know if we're going to do it yet, so it'll be nice to get some info about it.

Sleep is a little better lately.  I think that a big part of it was Drew being gone.  I still have good days and bad days with the m/s.  I scheduled an appointment with an OB, and I have my first appointment with them at 14 weeks.

Re: Bump Check-In

  • Feeling great this week. Seeing our little bit last week really put us on cloud nine. I think I've looked at the ultrasound pictures a hundred times and have rewatched the DVD they gave us. I'm so in love...can't believe he or she will actually be here in just four months! How time does fly.

When I had my appointment last week I mentioned that I had been having horrible dizzy spells multiple times a day. My doctor checked my blood work and made sure all was well, which it was, so she prescribed me some special stockings that help with swelling and such and is suppose to help with the blood flow. I guess my body wasn't compensating well enough for the extra circulating volume because I haven't had a single one since I started wearing them! Lets hope it stays that way.

Glad sleep is getting better for you. And don't be overwhelmed...you have an amazing support system on here and IRL. :)

  • Doing well here.  Had my 37 week check up this morning.  Found out that I am Strep B positive so when I go to the hospital I will have to have antibiotics.  My little man's heartbeat still sounds great and is in the 150s.  He's been very active lately too.  I lost 4lbs in the last week, I think it's due to cutting way back on sodium.  The swelling in my feet and ankles is almost gone.  Oh she didn't mention anything about being effaced (last week I was 50%) but I am 1cm dilated.  She said all the random cramps and pains that I have been having are early labor contractions.  My stomach doesn't tighten, there is no pattern or frequency and I don't have them every day but apparently they are contractions and are doing what they are supposed too.  I am still pretty comfortable and sleeping well.  I still get the pain in my hands but that seems to have gotten a little better.

Yesterday I got his room all set up and everything put together.  All I really need to do now is put his towels and bathtub away, sterilize and put away the bottles, and pack my hospital bag.  Can't believe he will be here so soon.  Just keeping everything crossed he hangs in there till at least the 10th when I get everything at work done and go to the comedy show that is a yearly tradition with me and a friend.  After the he can show anytime.

  • We are doing good. I have been feeling pretty good lately and I have no idea why. I am still uncomfortable sometimes and tired but have more energy than a few weeks ago.

We had our shower here in GA this past weekend and it was great. My friends put so much time and energy into everything and it looked great. Rarely do people put that much creativity into a party for me. We got a lot of things, but there is a still a lot of essentials left on my registry so I hope we get them this weekend at my shower in TN.

Also, I have always heard we would get a bunch of clothes so not to buy many. Thus far, we have very little so I am hoping we get more, or we get some good hand me downs from our nephew.

    I heart Ben!!

  • Shelley, I'm glad the low sodium is helping!

Not much new to report here. Still tired and having some seriously bad m/s days, but then other days are better. Hoping it wants to go away at 12 weeks again this time :) I'm very nervous about flying with a toddler and m/s this weekend and hoping we survive the ILs with our secret intact.

Two more weeks until we (hopefully) hear the h/b!

People usually buy tons of clothes right after you have the baby so don't buy too much ahead of time!

The very start of my contractions felt like period cramps. Then they got worse! Be excited that you're body's doing what it's supposed to!! You're getting close Momma!

    My overly happy baby girl!
