I didn't have a genre, but we agreed at the last book club that we enjoy memoirs and they make for good discussion, so that's what I'm going with. I can't make links clicky on my mac, but the tinyurl's will bring you to the Goodreads page for each book.
1. Night by Elie Wiesel: http://tinyurl.com/3jk4rh9
2. Inside the Kingdom: My Life in Saudi Arabia by Carmen Bin Laden: http://tinyurl.com/42d5wfs

My vote is for A Stolen Life. It's on my to-read list as is & I'm fascinated by her story.
Thanks!!
I vote for Growing up Amish. Second choice probably Night.
All of them sound good, but Carmen bin Laden irks me -- she always seems to be cashing in and making a buck off of such a horrible thing. And from what I've seen of her on TV interviews at least, she doesn't even know very much (or is afraid to say anything). I had no clue she wrote a book.
So I don't want to start a war, but I'm not sure what everyone decided when we restarted Book Club. DH has to work and MIL won't watch the baby on weeknights. I'd love to go if I can bring her, but if we're still not having babies at book club then I completely understand, and will have to sit it out. So if you're going and have an opinion, can you let me know? Honestly, no hard feelings if you vote no babies!
If I can come, I'd pick the Amish book.
I really like the dynamic of book club that we've had going so far this year, so I'm inclined to say no babies.
I can take October if you want to take something later in the year. I can't remember when I was supposed to host again.
Wait, I don't like the bolded.
I wasn't going to get involved in any of this at all, but having a mom get a sitter to what - watch the baby outside of the house for three hours so she can host book club in her own home? That makes me really uncomfortable. I'd be fine with a mom hosting book club with her infant there in her own house and I hope you'll keep October.
LB makes a really good point & I'm perfectly fine with her suggestion.
