It's been a rough week/weekend for some of us so let's give thanks....

I am thankful that after my risotto fiasco last night DH is insisting he make dinner tonight. It ended up ok but the risotto wasnt cooked to the best texture (undercooked and I added the veg and shrimp and scallops before testing it!) I was quite frustrated with myself. But thankfully DH is saving me from myself with dinner tonight but I want to make the pesto together. I found a recipe that uses pumpkin seeds instead of tree nuts which DH is highly allergic to. Yay!

gee i have lots today...

i'm thankful Irene spared us for the most part (we never lost power and i know TONS of people who have none and aren't likely to have any before the weekend) 

i'm thankful that because of Irene I got to spend  this beautiful day outside washing my Jeep.  : )

i'm thankful that because of Irene school (which was supposed to start YESTERDAY for teachers) has been postponed and students aren't going in now til TUESDAY September 6th!

and lastly, i'm thankful that DH and I's plan worked and I should be able to be home with our baby from May til September!  (fingers crossed!!)

I'm SUPER thankful for the fun trip we took and of course for the uneventful flights back and forth (that seriously made me SO happy) Additionally I'm thankful that DH is very understanding of my flight anxiety and thankful that he takes good care of me.

I am thankful that work lets me work from home. I went in this AM and there was no internet or phones and everyone was just sitting home. I wanted to go home so I could acutally get work done and they just sent me on my way. I can get stuff done now and don't have to work into the night and crazy for the next few days!

@Laurie, I'm glad you went on your trip and had fun!!!! 

 

I'm thankful for the fact that we were spared any damage or power outages from the hurricane.  Yes, it ruined our weekend, but that's about it.  We were SO lucky and my heart goes out to anyone that suffered severe flooding and damage.  It's going to be a long time until they get back to normal.

I'm thankful I got to spend time with the five munchkins this weekend. It really does help when I get another AF to be able to spend time with them. I know no matter what happens for Jeff and I there is already plenty of babies in this family for me to pour my love into!
