H and I are attending our first Officer's Club Social this Friday. It's Roaring 20s Casino Night. 20s attire is encouraged.
So far, I have a grey head band with beading that is it. haha I don't have any dresses in my closet that fit so I could use some ideas. Neither of us want to spend a lot of money as we probably wont be wearing them again.
TIA!
Re: Dress Me :)
I love the hair, makeup, headband and pearls here. Long pearls were big. Obviously the whole outfit probably wouldn't be acceptable, but you could do this, a sequin top, skirt/jeans and some strapy black heels and of course the hair, headband and pearls.
I love the color here.. and again the hair
Obviously this was probably a party that was 20s inspired as well, and these women are a bit older, but for the most part the dresses fit the era. They did NOTHING for the figure. Ha.
Thanks Ladies,
I found a bunch of hair videos on youtube that I'll test out.
I am heading over to a Costume shop tomorrow, if I can't find one for under $30 then I'll make my own.
H has it so easy, I think we are just gonna grab a white tie and suspenders to go with his black dress pants and shirt.
I'd start watching Boardwalk Empire for inspiration, and then continue watching so long I missed the party.
If I actually manage to go, I'd probably go to goodwill and look for a boxy dress and try to figure the rest out with accessories.
*UPDATE*
I checked our Goodwill and nothing worked. I did some googling and found a costume shop in the area, they use to rent costumes but it became too much work so now they are selling all their rentals. I snagged a black flapper dress, belt, fake pearls and head piece w/ feather for $35. My budget was $30 but since it includes everything $5 more is nothing.
I spent the majority of my evening messing around with 20s hair. I've been trying different approaches to pin curls. I showed H last night and he response was less than enthusiastic. Hopefully it will all come together
