Bird Baby Announcement

I am expecting in April and I have been looking on etsy and google for some kind of clipart or card to design to announce my pregnancy.

I want a bird with a saying Tweet! Tweet! and the rest of it will say In April, ? and ? will have someone for you to meet.

Maybe 2 birds and an egg or something like that.  Any suggestions?  I'm not that crafty, but Im trying.

Thanks

Re: Bird Baby Announcement

  • I say this with nothing but the best hopes for you to have a healthy & uneventful pregnancy.

why would you need to announce your pregnancy? Maybe it's just me, but it seems really, really gift-grabby & impersonal. Like, 'Hey! I care enough about you to want you to send me a gift, BUT not enough to pick up the phone and have a conversation with you - or to even send you a semi-personal e-mail.'

    again, just my opinion.

if you want to buy instead of DIY, Graham Cracker Designs is a great seller over on etsy. She'll work with you to get the announcement just you want.

  • I agree with pp. I would feel very confused and awkward to get a pregnancy announcement in the mail.

I like the baby bird theme for a BIRTH announcement, like a pic of the lo in a 'nest' or something.

Congrats! Hope your pregnancy is healthy and drama free, and your little one is healthy and happy! All the best!

  • Honestly, I'm superstitious about very few things in life. But sending out pregnancy announcements is on the superstitious list. Or at minimum, going out like that would worry me that I'd have to actually contact those people later if something God awful happened or risk them coming up to me and asking how I was doing when there was no longer a need to.

  • Oh, I should have explained alittle more.  I won't be sending them out like wedding invitations or anything like that.  I just want around 10-20 to send to family aunts, uncles, cousins) and very close friends.  I just thought something like that would be cute.

    It's still tacky.

  • I stand by my original post.

aunts/uncles/cousins will hear through the family grapevine if you don't contact them directly and, personally, if I were your "very close friend" I'd be pieced that you couldn't have told me in personally (face-to-face, via phone or as I stated above, a NON-FORM/NOT CC'd or BCC'd e-mail).
