Thursday Post

2 more days til the 3-day weekend...and an early dismissal tomorrow...nuff said.

Finally have a genuine work project to keep me busy.  Will make the next few days go faster.  Can't wait until the end of the month when things start to pick up.  On the bright side, I can use down-time to study and start prepping for next May.

Strengthening my resolve to avoid certain family members this weekend...

Re: Thursday Post

  • Will be so glad for Saturday afternoon and we're at my sister's place and I don't have to think about work.

Last night after I finished up at the peds place, I was going to head to the nursing home only to realize I didn't to fill up and J didn't tell me about some money he spent and by the time I filled up and everything, it would've been to late to go so I headed to Hobby Lobby, used my "mad cash" and bought the felt for the all black wreath and some damn stamps because I was tired of stenciling each letter/number of "50 Rocks" onto each invitation.

J cooked baked ziti last night then helped me finish the invites. He filled in all the info while I finished making and stamping them. I love that man.

I went to bed but couldn't fall asleep so my early morning of going to the nursing homes didn't happen. I'll get to that tonight.

Meetings galore and then working on stuff that's due next week for the rest of the day.

  • Morning all.  Left work early yesterday and was non-stop all evening.  Went to my MRI (no news, have to wait for Dr. to call me), visited my mom, raced home, changed and went to a step class at the gym, went shopping at Whole Foods, went shopping at ON (bought nothing, yay me!), came home, put groceries away, started dinner (steaks and fresh corn on the cob), started laundry, cleaned kitchen (including floors), washed all fruits/veggies, ate dinner, fed dog, put away 3 loads of laundry, put away a load of dishes, shopped online at Dress Barn (bought stuff, bad me!) and went to bed.  Was so sore from working out and being on my feet all evening, I couldn't fall asleep :(

Woke up at 1:45 w/ killer cramps.  Took drugs.  Was awake until 3.  Alarm went off at 4:57.  Zombie Misty today...

    PS: AF can suck it!

  • I worked for a very very very long time yesterday. My supervisor (who is also my work BFF) is on vacation this week, so I need to take care of her clients and my clients. I was here until 7PM, then I picked up a BIG bottle of moscato. MOH was at my house because the guys were bowling, so we just sat around and got drunk. I'm on a diet, so I hadn't eaten very much all day and got way drunk way fast. H came home and MOH left and then we had the sexy times and I passed OUT...at 9:30.

    In other news . . . I have lost 10 lbs! Yay!

Awesomeness!  And the best part of dieting is being a cheap drunk! :)

  • Susie - I get an early dismissal tomorrow too!  Oh yeah!  And my supervisor is out today and tomorrow, so I don't really plan on busting my assss too hard in between now and then.

Brew - You kicked yesterday's asss.  I can't believe you went to step class with your knee problems.  I'd have laid on the couch feeling sorry for myself and using it as an excuse to not work out.  Go you!

QOA - Awesome on the weight loss!  And yay for being a cheap drunk. ;-)

I have nothing new to add today.  I'm just here biding my time til Saturday.  La la la la la....

  • Congrats QoA!

I finally heard back from a prospective job - he misunderstood what I was looking for, but invited me to tour the facility.  I emailed him back clarifying I was looking to move to a different position, and I'm visiting today.  I'm so nervous about it - I think because I have no clue what to expect.  If I'm right about the way they work, I'm actually looking to get hired by one of their clients.  But at least it'll get me out of the office and I can practice dazzling someone.  And network.  I also just sent out a resume for a possibly awesome job - and one of my sort of bosses JUST left our company last week and starts at this other one NEXT week.  So if I get the interview, I should give him a heads up so he can give me a recommendation, right?  Wish me luck!

DH was completely involved with his fantasy draft last night - he had his laptop on the counter while he was doing dishes. Sometimes I wonder about him.

  • Brew, that sucks that you are having so much trouble with your knee.

Queen, congrats on losing your 10lbs. YAY!

I'm working from home today.  I've been at clients' offices so much recently.  I feel like I never get to work from home anymore.   Last night I had left over prime rib and truffle butter for dinner.  It was SO good.  I think there might be one last slice left. I might have it for lunch.

Today, work work work, then hair cut!  Can't decide if to keep the bangs short...
The big deal of the day is, I'm finally going to start driving my car around today.  She's been ok to drive for a few weeks, but I'm nervous :(

We won at trivia last night. Of course it was a week that the prizr was 50 free wings. We don't pay for our food when we go there, since Greg works there and they arent my favorite wings so I usually don't order wings when we go there. The feeling of a win is actually prize enough.

To complain for a moment, I do not know how the heck Michelle Dugger has been pregnant 15ish times and still take care of the millions of children she has.

Did you get her smogged finally?

Well it's Thursday, I have a huge proposal to finish (have yet to get to it though, lol) and my boss is heading to San Diego for the long weekend w/her family (lucky her). I think one of my ribs in the back is out of place, hoping it fixes itself or I'll call my cousin's husband, a chiropractor, to see if he can squeeze me in tomorrow after acupuncture to adjust it. DH, the dog and I are planning on a short run once I get home from work.

Oh, I'm not being productive at all.  I'm totally distracting all of my co-workers too.  Ha ha ha.  Good thing I'm salaried.  Otherwise I'd probably have to put in a 2 for hours worked today. :-)

  • Wow QofA- Awesome job on the weight loss, I am jealous.

Supposed to make $25 selling my sheets today. Whoo! I can actually buy gas for my car. It's supposed to be hot and humid again today and tomorrow... should be the last time of the year I assume. Otherwise, I have nothing to add.. I am boring today I guess. Hoping this weekend something fun happens for the last hurrah of the summer.

Anyone have epic plans for the 3 day weekend? Maybe I;ll start another thread.

  • Yay, Thursday!

I did pretty much nothing last night, which was great.  Big Smile  H made dinner, which was nice.  My only complaint is my new pg-related complaint, CHARLIE HORSES.  Holy moly, this is painful.  They are alternating between right and left calf, and basically cause me to wake up screaming in the middle of the night.  Yay, babies!  I've got to do some research on the why to see if I can prevent them, but I do know it's common.  Ugh.

I'm excited about this weekend.  Ordered a 4" cake from a local bakery (our cake baker is about 30 min away, so I didn't ask her to re-do it) for our anniversary, and it's a surprise for H.  I'm mostly excited because I love cake.

  • Aw, thanks everyone!

I feel like I'm such a needy AW and I don't give enough love back!

Funny story: H checked my calories for yesterday (on my fitness pal) and said they were really low (I had an allergic reaction to an APPLE! and my mouth was too swollen to eat for half the day) and kind of accused me of being anorexic. Today is my "off" day and I was too busy cramming food in my mouth to reply! *slurps some wonton soup*

I'll look into the electrolytes.  The funny part is that I've been eating a banana (or more) every day lately, to help with the restless leg feeling, so I should be good on potassium!

    And thanks, ladies.

  • Totally, QoA!  I'm just glad that I haven't had two very common pregnancy maladies, gas and heartburn.  I'll take my nausea over being able to clear a room any day!

  • I don't have gas but I have some serious heartburn. I also would get heartburn pre-pregnancy. I have the back pain and sciatic nervous that I almost had to wake Greg up the other night because I couldnt get out of bed.

  • Late to the game today.

Traffic is insane around here because of the stupid Grand Prix (wtf?) and people being asshats in general.  I was really productive this morning and then hit a wall after lunch, only to realize that I'd never had any coffee, so I'm rectifying the situation now.

Tomorrow I'm working from home, and I have everything packed up/transferred to USB/etc so I am sort of wrapped up for the day and debating going home.  Also, I realized today that my boobs have gotten a lot bigger than I thought - I am wearing a demi bra and have been falling out of it every five minutes.  I had noticed a 'growth spurt', especially in low-cut shirts (like, OMG, they actually sort of jiggle), but not the extent.  I think it's the weight I've gained, but I'm confused because it's only like ten lbs and I've been heavier than this before, but never had boobs this big.  Maybe something to do with my new BC?  I don't know, but it's weird.  Kind of nice, though, to be able to wear a sports bra and not look like a boy.

Soooo that's my random post of the day.

#1 - I think it's a requirement that to be able to drive in MD you have to be an asshat. I seriously would love to have a tank around here so I could run over all the douches I encounter.

#2 - Yay for bigger boobs! :-)  I would bet it's your new BC, but who knows.  Could be a combo of that and the weight gain.  When I gain weight, one of the first places it goes is to my boobs.  I thought that was awesome when I was younger, but now that I'm pushing a DDD it's not so cool...

  • 3 years ago when I started dating DH, I was still just a B cup. Now I am a D, and I recently noticed that they feel bigger again. Sigh. And like most people, I learned to shop for my body type when I was in high school (read: barely a B cup and still dancing away any illusion of body fat, and assumed by my friends' parents anorexic) I therefore have no idea how to find clothes to cover them.

  • I'm sort of wondering if it's a combo of my BC and maybe me getting older, that I now gain weight there.  I never used to really gain weight in my boobs; a couple of years ago I was like 30 lbs heavier (a combo of medicines) and they barely grew at all.  Now it's a full cup size larger and when I weighed myself two weeks ago, I had was 7 lbs above my normal weight.  I am trying a little harder to lose weight now, so I'm hoping I won't actually have to buy new bras.

Like Dats, I never had to worry about boobs before, so I'm noticing some of my tops are no longer work-appropriate.  Some things that looked totally normal on my B cups now look sort of skanky. Embarrassed
