Deeder and everyone else re: blood donation gno
I've had an idea for a little while, and wanted to run it by y'all.
I know we've talked about a blood donation gno before, and I'm wondering if you would be interested in doing it this fall.
I was a regular donor, but the kids sometimes become a good excuse not to go. They have a play area at MI blood, and if we do a GNO, we could all take turns watching little ones while moms donate?
And folks who can't donate maybe could come just for fun, or bake cookies for the recovery area?
I put Deeder's name on it in case she could get some points for "recruiting" a bigger group to come in.

Re: Deeder and everyone else re: blood donation gno
I haven't attempted to donate blood since I passed out in high school trying. I should really give it a go, since I'm a nurse now and not squeamish lol.
Depending on the time I would definitely try to make it. My schedule is rough with working nights and having Ben during the day.
110 lbs.
I barely squeak by.
Bhahahahahahaha.
Thanks! I can bake cookies...
As my friend calls me (affectionately, I think?) I am a "skinny bi-otch". Hey, I am only 5 foot...what do you want from me?!
Joining the not might weigh enough to donate group.
Happy to donate on behalf of Amachuta and gvsu. Kind of. Sigh. It makes it a little harder to swallow that today was also the day that Henry handed me a pig from his farm animal puzzle and said, "Mama." You just broke my heart, kid.
I usually donate at work but now somehow it always coincides with AF so I haven't done it in awhile. I'd be willing to go at some point if something got organized and I could tag along.
Freeburger. That SAME thing happened to me. I passed out in high school and never did it again. When I did it again, I passed out but somehow I figured out that if I drank a ton of water before I donated I was just fine. I honestly think it is gross and try not to look at anything. I just like the idea of donating something that doesn't cost me any money :-).
I am pretty sure he was saying you are a "ham".
Embarressed that you are skinny bitches? Come on now.
I'd love to weigh less than 110. Well, not 110, I'd be all skin and bones. But maybe a decent weight for my height would be nice!
GRSP, this sounds like a lovely idea. I wish the thought of needles didn't make me pass out, or that I could bake, or that I was good at watching kids...
Maybe I could offer to edit something for them while hanging out with y'all.
Being called a "ham" I can handle! Being called a "porker" I can not.
I'd like to join in. I'm sure K would like to be social with the other kids.
And I'm with Molly. I'd love to be at a better weight for my height.
My Profile
I'm so glad there's interest!!
Chymes, I love the editing idea (you're on a roll today). Maybe photographing? Juice pouring?
I am a CHAMPION juice pourer.
Well...except, maybe not...Last month one of my elderly residents asked me to pour coffee for the committee since the tablecloth she was using was borrowed and she didn't want to have to launder it before giving it back to her neighbor and I spilled that darn coffee all over the place like it was going out of style.
Erg. It's probably just because I don't drink coffee. Right???? I drink juice at home all the time with no incidents.
Thanks for thinking for me. Basically I get credit for calling a setting up an appointment. So without knowing your Real names I wouldn't get credit unless everyone sent me their info and then I called and set up a date / time that worked for all. So if we all said Sept 16 at 10:30 worked I would schedule who ever in the time window. Appointments are every 15 minutes so I would schedule 2 @ 10:30 and then another 2 later and so on and so forth. The staff there will not watch your kids so that would have to be worked out.
Of course we are always in need of donors so you could just come in with out the appointment anyway.
