JCP shirt fail. WDYT?

JCP pulled the shirt off it's website due to the outrage it caused.  I think the "Math is tough" Barbie is equally ridiculous.  The description JCP had of the shirt kills me.  WDYT?  Would you let your daughter wear this?

Re: JCP shirt fail. WDYT?

  • I think it's irrespossible to propagate the idea that being pretty is more valuable than being smart and no daughter of mine would be owning that. They did pull this shirt and apologize, but they have similarly offensive shirts for little girls still.
  • Blech! This is just icky.

I know very few non-feminists, but even the most gender-traditional, conservative women I know wouldn't be able to get behind this tshirt.

  • Yeah, this is just awful. Wtf were they thinking??

Well said. This reminds me of the time my male HS counselor told my mom and I there was no reason for me to be taking so many math and science classes. My mom had several choice words for him after that comment. So yeah, no daughter of mine would wear a shirt like this. Big, big FAIL.
  • What marketing genius wrote the product blurb?! Either someone was trying their hand at irony or this company is just flat our shameless.

Although I'm nearly positive this is the actual frame of mind of my 13-year-old niece.

Luckily she has an awesome woman like you to set her straight! :)
