What was the highlight of your summer?

The first week in June. It started off with our whole team in town for a meeting, and we stayed up all night team-building.* The next day was the beginning of the annual tech conference that was full of great talks and interesting people. I got to have lunches with a good friend who'd left the company. I had a lovely date on Friday, and then the weather turned beautiful in time for the long weekend, which was jam-packed with bike rides, picnics, and brunches with loads of friends, sunshine, and champagne.

I would relive that week over and over!

*And by team-building, I mean getting really, really drunk and saying very embarrassing things.

I can't say that there has been one big day/week.  We got our dog at the end of May, that was awesome.  I've been making good progress physically since May, too.  Mostly we've just been living under the rock called Turkmenistan, so there isn't much exciting about this summer.  Oh, it was the summer I started and finished the Battlestar Galactica series in under a month?  Yah.... I'm boring.  

Yet I still feel compelled to answer the question.

Our trip to Edinburgh with my parents.  They watched Will during the day and H and I would go wander around and find different shows to see.  We had a blast and absolutely loved Edinburgh.  It's my new favorite place that I've been so far.

Pretty much all of August. We went to Michigan to see family/friends for two weeks then to California for a two week road trip. I fell in love with Cali and I can't wait to go back. We actually got a proper summer with lots of beach time, boating and bbq's!  At the end of all of that I popped back to MI for a long weekend to celebrate a friends 30th birthday before heading back to London.

hurray!!! i was meaning to ask how your trip went, so glad you had fun! We really love this city and I get really excited when other people do also.

We went to Portugal for a week in May and it was absolutely fantastic. We had so much fun travelling with our friends and ate tons of cheese and drank tons of wine, super relaxing!

Leaving STBXH-a very hard thing to do and a very tough summer, but thats a small sacrifice to a great life for myself. Im so much happier now! A drunken weekend in Boston with my law school girls was another highlight!

New Orleans with DH. It was so much fun, our hotel was right on Bourbon Street, we had a big balcony on Bourbon Street. 

We had a great time sightseeing, drinking, and eating. DH really enjoyed New Orleans, it was fun to show him a really interesting city in the US.

Jetur, that would have been the highlight of my summer. I've made it very clear on here I'm a massive BSG fan. I even got my friends a "Cylon Baby" onesie for their son.

Mine was definitely my best friend's wedding in upstate NY. She looked so happy, and I was so happy for her.

When my mom visited at the beginning of August. We didn't have disposable funds or a car to do day trips most of the summer. So when she was here it was a great time showing her Zurich and taking her to Lugano and Mt. Titlis.

Our summer vacation-- road trip from Naples to northern/central Spain via SW France.  Believe it or not, the driving part (seeing the geographic/geological changes) was cool.  Basque country is fabulous and we a terrific time meeting up w/ one of my friends from college in Madrid/Barcelona.
