Re: AW/FFFC

  • AW: I feel really good about the work I'm doing with my classes. Even though my music program moved up a classification, the kids are rolling with it and I'm getting good results from a more strict rehearsal technique. The newspaper kids are turning in great work, even though most of them are new. The yearbook kids have amazing ideas and are really on top of things. I love the new journalism curriculum I wrote. All of that is going really, really well.

FFFC: I fear the magnitude of my responsibilities has finally reached critical mass, and I realize that my ability to be flexible at work and willingness to help others/take on more is the reason for that. I have no one to blame but myself.

FFFC: I might actually cry if the a/c isn't working at the school again. Yesterday was miserable.

  • FFFC: There's a strong possibility that we'll be dismissed early today because today is the day before a holiday. I'm considering lunch with zero concern for getting back to the office quickly since I probably won't have to stay later if I do.
  • A baby lamb was born in NY today - and she was named Irene Hope - when I read this, I said to myself, "What a beautiful little girl's name - Irene. I might consider this one."  HUH?

  • My parents built a new lake house and they are wanting to move in this weekend. We have told them we would help all along. However, my brother and sisters are not going to help move until Sunday, because they want to go to the game tomorrow. Yes, I understand that, but we are left to do all of the heavy lifting. I told my mom that it's not fair that they aren't helping load anything that we have here tomorrow morning when the game isn't until tomorrow night. On the bright side...since we are moving all day tomorrow and Sunday morning, we are leaving to come home as soon as my brother and sisters get there on Sunday. They get stuck with all of the annoying small stuff. Muhaha!
  • FFFC: So glad I am getting released from work at 11:30, which is perfect with my 11-11:30 lunches. Also I'm not going to lie I'm a little excited all the dogs are at the vets or the groomers so I can go home and get a nap in and relax before I have to pick them up. I love my dogs but without having someone else to help watch them, it makes it a little difficult to get stuff done or to just relax.

I'm also super excited for Monday morning to come around. It?s our 2 anniversary, and H is going to watch the sunset and I'm going to watch the sunrise, but it?s at the same time. I know it?s kind of cheesy but we are going to take pictures and put them in a photo book I'm making of our year on opposite sides of the world.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good place to see the Sunrise?

  • Aww: It is Labor Day weekend and I have an extended vacay! No classes on Monday or Tuesday... of course it has a lot to do with the fact that I will have a seminar in Lawton the next weekend.

We purchased a ticket for my mom to fly in at the end of the month just so she could cook for us for a week. We also plan on showing her a good time here!

FFFC: I don't get the hype over Beyonce's pregnancy. I am happy (in theory since I don't know them) for them but think it has been WAY overblown.

I would try to approach this from the standpoint that your offer to help was not contingent on theirs. You would help even if they weren't coming at all, no?
  • AW:  I decided to bite the bullet and get boudoir pics done for DH's 35th birthday in the spring.  To keep myself from chickening out, I've been in touch with the photographer (the fabulous JLimberg, btw) and I'm going to just make myself do it!  I may need liquor beforehand, though....

FFFC:  When I got my Rx for BCPs the OB told us to use back up BC for the first 7 days.  That was 4 weeks ago and I still insist that we use back up because I'm TERRIFIED of getting pregnant right now.  I miss being pregnant, I want to be pregnant again, and I absolutely want another baby, but not now.  The thought of finding out I'm pregnant when DS is not even 2 months old (or really any time in the next year) scares the sh!t out of me.  I'm finishing up this pack of BCPs and I *think* I had my first post partum AF, but it was so different from AF pre-pregnancy so that weirds me out.  I think DH is starting to give me the side eye....

I had a couple of shots before I took my pics for H in February for Valentine's Day/our anniversary. You're going to look fabulous!

No real AW here...except I think I finally got our budget figured out. Took forever, but I think we can make it work until I move. And, H is getting a roommate, which will cut down on how much we pay OOP for two places by at least $400. I hope that all works out until we move.

My FFFC: I want to throw my back across the street. I pulled a muscle earlier this week, and my back is killing me. I'm working through it, but it sucks. I'm glad my mom is coming up tomorrow for the football game and I have a friend helping me out until she gets here. Sigh.

  • AW: I summoned all of my courage and asked my boss for the editing position I wanted, and he said yes!

FFFC: I decided the next day that I am terrified of taking a position that doesn't currently exist, and informed my boss that I'd be staying in my current role. I'm going to work on my copywriting, and hopefully grow into that role as our agency grows. Still, I feel like a moron for being all passionate about something, and then changing my mind WITHIN 24 HOURS. Gah.

Now I'm desperately seeking a bad@ss proofreader. Let me know if you or someone you know might be interested! Must know AP Style inside and out.

Congrats! That's awesome!!! It takes a lot of guts to ask for something like that. It's ok if you decided to change your mind later.

AW: I got selected to do a faculty exchange for 10 days at a European University. Woohoo! Contingent on working out the details, of course...

FFFC: We have a work pool party this evening. I work with awesome people! But, the list of people I least want to wear a bathing suit in front of goes: The President, The Pope, My FIL, My Colleagues. Augh!

Nooooooooo!!!!!!  Being placed into a position that doesn't currently exist is awesome - you can "make it your own" and not have to worry about any sort of predecessor issues. Can your mind again.
