I need help on what to feed C. Up until he was 8 months, he was breastfed. While he was on breastmilk, he would eat all kinds of baby food and was not picky at all! So after a while, he stopped eating baby food and has been eating regular people food. At first he did really well...peas, sweet potato, green beans, banana, etc. Well now he won't eat anything really. I know kids are like that, but I don't want to give him crap food. I want him to eat the good stuff. I will say that he loves strawberries! So any help would be greatly appreciated on what I could make him or have him try. Thanks!
Re: Baby eating help!
Hi, I'm usually just a lurker but my daughter is 11 months old and so i thought I could give you some ideas of things she likes, she is also breastfed but she eats mostly finger foods now.
Mozzarella sticks
Spaghetti i usually put pureed veggies in the sauce
Any pasta with Mozzarella sprinkled on top
All veggie "chicken" nuggets
Avocados
Greek yogurt with fresh fruit
Turkey dogs
All veggie mac n cheese
Mandarin oranges
I agree with what Jamie said!
Also, my kids liked chunks of fruit like bananas, apples (cut really small), peaches, avocadoes, etc. They also liked pasta and rice.
Pretty much, I just gave them what we were eating for dinner, but chopped into small pieces so they could feed themselves. I don't have the energy to make them their own meal, so I didn't. Sometimes they ate and sometimes they didn't (and even now, sometimes they eat and sometimes they don't. V has gone to bed without eating dinner a few times). I have also read in many places that as long as they get what they need over a week they are good. So they might not eat at all for 3 days, but eat non-stop for 4 days and that is fine.
We gave our baby scrambled eggs (in pieces), smoothies with veg juice in them (I may be overly concerned about veg intake b/c she doesn't like them much), all-natural applesauce, blueberries, super-soft peas, mashed potatoes, diced ham...
Hope that helps!
