Sunshine and Light Friday
Just to offer a positive alternative.
There are a freshman boy and girl who come early to the hall my class is in. It has been so cute watching them meet and be awkward and cute toghether for the past two weeks. He asked her for her number today and I almost wanted to clap with happiness.

I'll put my Positive Pants on and join... The office is closing at 2 today. Which means I get to go home at 2 today, and not come back until Tuesday. That sounds logical, but life as a tax accountant is usually far from logical. This is my first Labor Day as a grown-up to be off work, and I'm so excited! We're going to visit my parents, and all the guys are going dove hunting, so there should be some good girl time with my mom, sister, SIL, and niece. I need 2pm to hurry up!!

We "officially" get to leave at 3 today, but they ALWAYS make an announcement that we can leave at 12-1. I will have to 'work' at home since I report to 17 other offices too, but at least its HOME!!

My SIL is a freshman in high school, and she is having her first "Texas Homecoming" this year. A boy asked her "how do you want to be asked to the Homecoming dance?"
I thought it was SO SWEET! She told him that he could text her. Hahaha!

The gift that I got DH for our anniversary is due to arrive tomorrow and I can't WAIT!!! I hope that it's as cool as it looks online.
And I teach my first official classes tomorrow. I'm terrified. But excited to finally get a chance to try something different and teach.

I think it's any love.. I was at Starbuck the other day and there was couple in their 40s who were obviously on a first date. I thought it was so cute! This could be the start of something great!
My positive thing is I finished the Thank you cards last night! Almost 200 cards hand written! We are done! Now we can get back to our lives.

We're going to pick up our wedding album today, I'm so excited! We opted for a different layout (I figure I can always make a DIY traditional one following Stephie's tips) and I can't wait to see it in person.

My happy moment of the day is that we won a softball game for the first time last night -- YAY!
Ben is washing my car today so you'll all be happy to know it should rain tomorrow.
Tonight I am staying downtown with Mel at the Hyatt and I plan to do nothing but order room service, watch wedding shows on TLC, and read Unbroken. I can't wait.

Hee, yeah, they tried to ask if they could go unchaperoned this year but I said no. (Supposedly the other mothers were ok with it, but I highly doubt that). Next year when they will all be 18, closer to 19 I guess they can. Honestly they are all so good it would probably be fine but you just never know.

I did! I make her cake every year but this was the first year she actually understood what was going on. She looked into the cake box and said "Oh man, oh wow, oh man!" Then we caught her sneaking a fork, she was planning to dig in before anyone else had a chance. I had to tell her the birthday song is the magic song for the cake, we can't eat any birthday cake with a magic song because it wouldn't taste nearly as good.
So cute!! :-)
I am happy today because we had a party for the two Aug bdays in our office so we got free lunch from Pei Wei and some pie and ice cream. Yay! I wish we could leave early today, but I doubt that will happen :-(

My great aunt and uncle are called "The Love Birds" by the employees at a restaurant they go to. It's cute!
Last year, you all know I had a really rough start to the school year. This year has been so awesome though, mainly because I love the fact that we are no longer on that block schedule non-sense. Seeing my kids for shorter periods of time and every day have made a difference for sure.
I read this and thought "CAKE. IT IS THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS!"
