If anyone was still looking for an ereader
Now is a great time to check out the Borders sale. Kobos were $56 when I was there last night. They're supported by Kobo, a Canadian company, not Borders so it doesn't matter that they're going out of business. And they work with library books.
Re: If anyone was still looking for an ereader
ohh, I'm am definitely checking that out this weekend!!
Though do ipad's supports e-books? Maybe i'll just wait until I get an ipad.
I might get one for my mom for xmas! I need to go check and see if they can be ordered online...
ETA: The 2 stores that are still open by me are sold out...
Yes, iPads support ebooks, you can download the Kindle, Nook, and Overdrive apps. Overdrive is the app for library books on an iPad/iPhone. I LOVE my iPad, I seriously take is everywhere and am always reading on it. Overdrive and my state library's ebook lending have kept me occupied all summer. Overdrive also supports audiobooks, so if your library has those available online as well, you can check them out too!
Kate, thanks for the info about the Kobo, I am definitely going to have to look into this and see if I can pick up one or two for Christmas gifts for my MIL and mom.
If you wanted me to grab you one, my store still has them. They all are black and the wifi version (not the new touch ones) but they're down to $40.

Yes, no probelm!
I'm fairly certain it's this one: http://www.amazon.com/Kobo-eReader-Black-Wireless-eBooks/dp/B00519FBTK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315019940&sr=8-1
I think they only had black ones left.
This is the one I have and I have no complaints. And the Kobos come loaded with 100 free classics so you don't have to buy books right away to make it work, which is nice.
Just let me know exactly what you want and I'll grab them.
