Hi everyone!
My MIL is throwing my FIL a surprise 60th birthday party in a few months. We are at a complete loss as to what to get him! He has no hobbies, he's not very social. He doesn't read. Isn't into technology. He's pretty quiet about everything, so we usually just buy him polo's for holidays because it's the only thing we know he will use. One year I painted a portrait of his father for him... there are no pictures of us displayed in the house, but this he hung front and center in the living room. We want to get him something a little more special since this is a milestone... any ideas?
Re: Present ideas?
Maybe have a big family picture taken by a professional photographer? If there are multiple generations that would be really cool. You could also maybe break down by generation for additional pictures for him.
*EDIT*
Of course then he wouldn't be in the pictures. Maybe pics of grand kids/kids all together?
I love this idea! Us grandkids did it the year before my grandfather passed away and the one thing he treasured was his family especially his grandkids.
A portrait is a great idea that can't go wrong in my book.
We got my FIL an unusual type of beer that he liked for his 60th.
Not terribly creative
His party was a lot of fun, though.
