Possible relocation...anyone live in the Wausau area?

Hello!

MH is looking at a job opportunity in Wausau. Just wondering if anyone is from the area, can you give me an idea of good neighborhoods and/or suburbs to look into?

Finding a safe neighborhood with kids and good schools would be the goal.

Hi camrude! I live in VA right now, but I was born and raised in Wausau. I would recommend the Riverview Elementary area for a great neighborhood. I personally didnt live there, but I think it's one of the best neighborhoods. Not sure what your budget is, but there is something for everyone. It's kind of funny, but the further up the hill you go, the bigger the houses get! Plus if you live in that area, you won't be too far from Horace Mann Middle School and Wausau East High School. I am not just saying this because I grew up on the East side, but I honestly think the East side schools are better than the West. The MS and HS buildings are newer, I had amazing teachers, and East HS has the I.B. program (as opposed to just AP). If you have any other Qs, let me know!
