If you go to church, how do you decide...

So, I was curious, for those who go to church, how did you decide what church to go to? My husband and I are disagreeing with churches, which is making things a little rough. 

How do you decide, if either of you feel differently? We both are the same religion, so that isn't the problem. But the values/feelings we seek from a church are different, I guess. I feel great at one church and he doesn't like it, etc.

Finding a church is so stressful. We changed churches about a year ago. We visited other churches for months. We found one that we sort of liked so we were going to join it. But then a co-worker invited us to her church. We went and absolutely loved it. For us, it was completely clear that this church was the one for us. We had made a list of things we wanted in a church (music that wasn't so old-fashioned, mission opportunities, other people in our age group, opportunities for our future children, etc.) and this church met everything on our list. If I were you, I would just start visiting new churches and pray about it. Hopefully it will be clear once you find the right church.

We did the same as Kaylee.. just visiting different churches and seeing what felt right.  We also googled churches and looked on their websites for what they believed in/what their stance was on issues,etc.  

It is really hard to find a church, it took us a little bit. We go to a church in downtown OKC and feel very blessed to have found it.

I'm looking for a church, and have been having a hard time finding one. I just keep going and I figure eventually something will just feel right.

DH and I were different denominations when we met.  We eventually just started going to different churches and trying them out.  We also went to different denominational churches then we were comfortable with and eventually ended up finding one we loved and converted.  Just keep trying and eventually you will end up in the right place with one you both love.
