Beginner Crocheter!?

I've never done it and I was wondering how did you all learn how to do it? Did you learn from a book or video? What is the best way to learn how to do it and understand it quickly? Thanks

I learned from my mother, but from what I've heard, Youtube has many wonderful instructional videos.  Have you checked out the board FAQs?  I'm sure there are some great resources there too.

4-H crochet classes as a kid and later on books. Anything I've ever got stuck on pattern wise, I found on youtube. You should grab a couple books and throw on the youtube video's. Its really fun once you get started.

I learned from a neighbor. Once I had the basics I picked everything up from books or someone at my sit n knit.

It depends on your learning style. I need someone to show me the first time.

I learned from a friend, but I frequently use Youtube videos and directions from books to learn new stitches.  crochetpatterncentral.com has some good lessons as well as a ton of free patterns.

I learned off You tube as well I am on my second blanket now ! And going to try and get a scarf done before winter. Love crochet ! It is nice to crochet while watching t.v.  My goal is to crochet a fashionable sweater... might take a few years to get that good it ! haha.
