Experiences with Groupons?

My mom gives me Groupons as gifts, and I have yet to redeem them.  One is for a restaurant, and one is for a photographer.  They will expire soon so I have to use them.

I don't know much about Groupon.com and I've never really heard of anyone redeeming them.  I feel awkward, I don't know why.

Has anyone used Groupons?

I love them and have never felt weird using them.  Ok, I lie, I did feel weird using it at Prime downtown but the waiter was so funny and he wished he could have bought one! 

It is a great way to try new places and gives you an excuse to go out.

I LOVE my groupons, and I never feel funny or awkward about them!  Just show your waiter when they come see you for the first time so they know ahead of time.  The are used to them, especially when it's close to when the groupon expires.  Have fun!

I've used groupons a couple of times. I always feel awkward using them, too, but you shouldn't! The establishments put out the groupons because they wanted the business, even at a steep discount. They knew what they were doing, you shouldn't feel bad using them!

i use groupon and restaurant.com all the time and never feel weird about it.  why would you? the establishment puts their "coupons" out for consumers to save money, who cares what people think? why pay full price when you dont have to?? we rarely go out to dinner anymore without a coupon.  I just bought a $25 gc for $4 bucks today to my favorite restaurant.  (restaurant.com has 80% off today with code: SAVE).  just do it! i promise u wont feel awkward when you realize you save 50% or more!

I just used one for the Providence Oyster Bar this weekend and the waitress said she puts it in as a gift card, no problem.  Its a good deal plus brings in new business probably.  I'm kinda addicted to them now!  My sister went in a hot air balloon and whale watching this summer with those kind of deals, pretty cool.

I have used them for numerous things and never feel awkward, saving money actually makes me feel great, and I get to go out more because of it

I am addicted to Groupons.  I feel like I have a million of them.  It's nice because we tend to go to dinner on Saturday or Sunday (they're our nights together and like to make it a bit special, plus I'm out of practice on actually cooking things for both of us!).  Never, ever had a problem.  There are some I use every time they come around - like Oki's.
