I'm trying to figure out how much money to put into my flex pay account for next year. ?DH is planning on Lasik, so I figured I'd put enough in to cover that.
?
Anyone know the average cost? ?TIA!?
Re: cost of lasik?
When I had it done in 2003 at Midwest Eye Center (in Carmel) it was $1200 per eye. I'm sure the cost has gone up somewhat. I do remember that the initial consult (to see if I was even a candidate before I put the $ in my flex spend account) was only like $100 which was then credited towards my surgery cost. You might look into that before committing the funds. A friend of mine wanted Lasik, but was ruled out because her corneas were too thin for the amount of correction that she would need (something that she totally could not have predicted on her own.)
I have recommended Drs. Johnson & Deitch at Midwest several times and everyone I know that has been to them has been happy. These two are board certified corneal surgeons, so they are the guys that you would go to in Indy for a cornea transplant if some other doctor messed up your Lasik. That's why I chose them to start with. HTH!
