First off, it is very strange working with a nestie because now she knows when I am posting!! (a lot - but this is not why I am frustrated))
Second, why I am nervous and frustrated, DH and I have lost our minds and have decided to get our kitchen renovated NOW. This is mostly because we are have 20 of DH's dearest fraternity brothers over to our house (and their plus ones) for a bridal shower in November. Essentially, our contractor has SIXTY days to complete the reno. It isn't a big job, by any means (no, really, it isn't) but the hold up could potentially be supplies. DH and I are calling around like mad to make sure we can get everything in time - backsplash will take 6 weeks - no biggie - it is the last item to be installed. Floors will take 3 days - definitely not an issue. But the big stuff - NO ONE WILL CALL US BACK and I am about to lose my mind. Subcontractor has to start NOW. Like, this week now and all I want is for people to freaking call me back! My stomach is in knots because I am desperate to have a gorgeous kitchen again!!!!
Re: Argh! Nervous and frustrated (home reno related!!)
I have next to no patience for people who don't call back. Sorry you're dealing with that! I'm sure it'll get done and look fabulous in pleeeenty of time for the shower.
I KNOW!!! Especially since, we have used the SAME VENDORS over and over again - for a reason - so that they will treat our projects as a priority. I guess most aren't as business minded as I am - but if I am installing a vanity in someone's bathroom and I see that they have two more bathrooms that need to be gutted AND a kitchen I am going to work like mad to get that person's future business. But nope, that isn't how it works. Our plumber and electrician are fantastic - they get it. Some of the others do not. I have called our granite guy three times today - and emailed once - our countertops is a cost that we can control and I need a number NOW darn it!
Noooooooo. I really need him to come fix my garage door before Connor's birthday party on Oct 8th
But yeah, good luck!
Have you called him? Did the garage incident happen at your house or someone else's?
I know he has been sick - he was at our house on Monday and clearly did not feel well, poor guy. I was seriously concerned he was going to throw up. He won't start on us until the week after next (oh God, oh God!!!) so he should have time. You might send him a text to see where he is.
