Do you plan to pay for LO(s) college? No judging from me. I know some of us paid for our own college, so just curious.

Yes, we hope to be in a position where we can pay for college.  We have started saving to help us try to achieve that.  Whatever we can't pay for, we'll work on together and have open discussions as to how best to minimize the gap.

I hope we can. We plan too. My parents did pre-paid for us. Of course I was a complete idiot and now still have a bunch of student loan debt. Grown up financially responsible Christie often gets mad and shakes a firm finger at stupid 18 yr old Christie. To be fair I DID need loans to cover my books (although my mom probably would have even covered those) and my living expenses since my job wasn't paying enough (even when I was working 2 jobs,) but I definitely could have been more responsible with the loans and stretched them out better.

We plan to have savings accounts for each child but I'm not sure it will be specifically for college.

We are investing and plan to pay for their undergraduate, no promises on graduate level at this time.

We plan on doing FL pre-pay. I don't know if we'll be able to pay for everything and I doubt we'd even want to do that, but we can give some help.

Yes, we are currently paying into a FL prepaid plan.  I hope we can do the same for future baby # 2.  My tuition and my brother's was paid via prepaid.  We still had to work in order to pay for other expenses though, so there was definitely responsibility instilled, even without the expense of having to pay for college tuition directly.

We never really planned to start one since both DH and I paid for our own college.  DH actually worked full time all through college and I worked part time.  We both figure that it is more important to put money away for our retirement since LO can always gets loans/scholarships to go to college (if that is the path he wants to take).

Exactly this (minus the started saving part).  We plan to keep the lines of communication totally open on what we can/will pay for and what we won't and be responsible for educating our hypothetical kid on the long-term effects of SLs if he/she wants to go somewhere outside of what we've budgeted (if you go here, you'll need x amount of SLs which will cost you x amount of dollars per year for thirty years and that is x percentage of the salary you can anticipate making out of college).  But yes, we would like to pay for as much as possible.

This is pretty much what we're thinking.  We're really good at saving money so we'll just continue to save and invest as we normally do and hopefully as a result, we'll have enough money set aside by then to pay for our child's college education anyway.  But we aren't going to have a savings account specifically for that purpose.  We feel it's much more important to save for our retirement (it's not like you can take out a loan for that!).

We do.  We were very lucky, both of our parents paid for our college and it was nice to have a fresh start out of college without debt.  We're only able to save a small amount now, but once B starts kindergarten, a large chunk of what we're paying in daycare for him (~$1k/month) will start going towards his college savings.  Same for Mackenzie.
