Anniversary
Our 1 year anniversary was this weekend...it was great, massages, dinner at Ray's, cupcakes at Golden Gardens (where we got married), chapagne, starwberries & wedding video at home. The next day I attempted mole, which we had on honeymoon. Only problem was...my parents took our cutting cake from the reception and wrapped it and put it in thier freezer. It's come up in conversation several times over the last year that it was in freezer, how it would taste, how it was wrapped, etc. So, over the weekend I texted my dad asking him if we could come get the cake. So, he calls me back and sounds very strange, making small talk...and I'm like, "Do you still have the cake?" And he says, "Well, you know you're wedding was very busy and a lot was going on..." Uh huh... So, he tells me he accidentally stepped on it that night and kept up this lie with the intention of getting new cake and passing it off as the original, but he forgot! Hopefully the cupakes from Cupcake Royale (same as the wedding) will still bring us good luck...

Glad to hear you had a good time! LOL at your dad, it sounds like something my dad would do.
We had cupcakes at our wedding, so we didn't save any. DH had his own allergy free cake and that doesn't sound good a year later. Even if it was frozen.

We got married in Vegas - took our cake on our road trip with us, kept it in a cooler but alas it looked horrible and we were afraid to eat it!
We've since gotten cupcakes from CR to celebrate

We just had a cake made that was the same flavor etc. as our wedding cake for our first anniversary and it was just a nice to have a "fresh" one!

I wasn't mad, but a little disappointed.
DH seemed pretty upset, which surpised me b/c I didn't even think he cared, but then said it was b/c he knew I was excited about it. I could tell my dad felt bad...but it was so silly to lie about it all year...and then forget to replace it! But, I guess it makes a good story.

this is what i wondered.. the lying all year is what i think would bug me the most. H would have probably been mad about the lying too.
i'm happy that your anniversary was amazing though. we did nothing. actually, we got into a fight so it's whatev... the honeymoon is over... lol.
