Jumping through hoops (vent)
We have our medical insurance through Disney and they have this rewards program set up to encourage people to be healthy. It's 3 parts and you get $100/person for each. So, I got the first 2 by doing an online survey and then going to my Dr. for a physical. The third $100 you get automatically if your physical shows you have a "healthy" BMI between 18.5-24.9. I didn't get the BMI reward, so I logged in to see what it is... 17.2. Then, they tell you that you can reduce your BMI by 10% and then get the reward. Doesn't help me and it's says nothing about how to get the reward if you're under the range! Annoying! So, I called them and explained that I've always been this weight and it's normal for me, blah blah blah. She asked me if I would be comfortable gaining weight and I said yes, but I've tried to gain in the past and it doesn't work ... not to mention, I can't eat dairy, bread, pasta, etc because of Margots allergies. So, now I have to call multiple times to get health coaching over the phone and then get my Dr. to send in another form saying I'm a healthy weight for me. Talk about jumping through hoops... And such a waste of time!!! Blah! I want my $100 though!!

We have a program sort of like that. A "wellness" program but we don't get money per se, just don't have to pay for certain things like annual exams etc.
How many times do you have to call? I mean geez, if you had a child and still have that BMI - obviously that's where your body is meant to be ESPECIALLY when you can't eat all the awesomeness that makes you gain weight!
PCOS and Endo
Ovarian drilling and endo removed 1/3/12
BFP - 3/27/12
Beta's 11, 14, 57, 637, 2800
Sono showed no baby and teeny tiny sac. Waiting to M/C naturally.
I have to call 3 times. Not too bad and I know it's an added bonus, but I'm healthier now than I've ever been and feel like I deserve it, ya know?! And it's totally genetic! My whole family is like this and I'm grateful for it, although growing up was not fun. I got called chicken legs, anorexic, bulimic, etc. Kids are cruel! But ya, i eat a lot and it's just the way I was made.
My H says BMI stuff is silly because it doesn't take into account people's body type at all. Two people of the same height and weight may be really different healthwise. I mean obviously there is some truth to BMI but case in point - you would be an exception. Seems like it would be more unhealthy for you to gain weight by eating carbs/junk than to just stay what you are!
I wish I got my insurance paid for but the district can only pay for so much with taxes. My BFF's company has tiers in their health insurance based on pre-screeners. The higher the tier you make it into, the more they pay. I like that idea!

How annoying!
We have a wellness program at work and if we participate we pay a lower contribution that those who don't participate. Obviously I'll keep participating!
I like that tiered idea! It seems like more companies are going into that direction.
