Best iron??

I am in need of a new iron.  I totally would love an Oliso iron but don't know if that is justifiable.  Do you have one you love?

  • I really like my Rowenta.

  • I also have a Rowenta and I'm on the fence about it. I feel like the steam sometimes just lets loose a bunch of water randomly. Could be user error, but I've never had this happen before. Other than that, I love it.

  • I really like my Shark and it's very affordable ($30)
  • I have this one and I really like it. I was looking at much more expensive ones and nicer brands, but settled on this one because the reviews were so good, and I've been perfectly happy with it. Actually, after I bought it and brought it to my parents' house to use while sewing because I hated theirs, my mom went and bought one. :)

Sounds like you might have mineral build up? Do you use distilled water in your iron?  If not flush it out with distilled water and run the steam a bunch. My mom had that happen to one of her irons.  She was using tap water, big no no. Clogged the crap out it.  Either that or someone dropped it on its head and didn't tell you about it. LOL

  • I actually love a simple iron. The simpler the better - just a couple of choices of temp settings and steam or dry. They seem to work so much better than the pricier brands for me. And then if I gunk 'em up by accident, I don't panic.

I iron a lot, so one that takes tap water is a must for me.

  • I considered an Olliso but the reviews weren't that great. I ended up splurging on a Rowenta pressure steamer with the huge tank, and I haven't regretted it at all. It is amazing.

    Me too.

I have this one, which has some crappy ratings on Amazon, but it heats up quickly, has a filter to keep out the minerals, is easy to refill and presses all the way into those tiny quilting corners.

  •  I bought a Rowenta years ago with a coupon from JoAnns.  It has been a very good iron.
