anybody have a mannequin?
I'm trying to find a seated mannequin to use for a Halloween display, and do you know how expensive those things are? yikes!
Perhaps someone has one collecting dust in the garage?

my previous attempts at a scarecrow-like figure have all been pretty pathetic. I LOVE Halloween, so I have in my mind's eye a very elaborate display (of course, my current collection of Halloween decor consists of a few rubber bats, two plastic skulls, a suction cup spider, and about 9 orange ceramic pumpkin lanterns on rusty hang chains. Not very impressive, but I'm working on it...)
I guess if I got mannequin arms and a mannequin head I could build a decent scarecrow.... I wanted my mannequin witch to sit beside a "cauldron" of dry ice, looking menacing. Shoot, maybe I'LL just sit on the porch dressed like a witch, looking menacing.
LOL! You could definitely be the "witch" and hand out candy that way! How awesome!
Have you tried craigslist or local thrift stores? Hey a Mervyn's store is going out of business by my office...wonder if they have their mannequins for sale! Want me to check for you?

FYI - Mervyn's Canoga Park has the following:
female standing legs $20
female torso $10
no arms, no heads
sounds funny! maybe other locations will have more and what you need. LOL!
