Ideas for a Halloween Party

I have NEVER thrown a halloween party and was thinking about doing one this year. What would make it a fun party for you?

Re: Ideas for a Halloween Party

  • Depending on the size of your party, beer pong is always a good game. There are also other really funny board games that are great for smaller group parties, such as 'Truth Be Told'. That one was hilarious! Or set up a Wii with different games.

  • We have been going to Halloween parties every year for years and years. When the host does Halloween-ish foods, like kitty litter cake, witches fingers, carmel apples etc, that always makes the party fun. Also, I like when you have to dress up. One of our friends said you had to dress up (even if it was something simple) and if you didn't they would give you a costume to wear. Also, they handed out store bought ribbons for funniest costume, sexiest costume, etc. Also, if it is possible to do a fire pit outside since it is usually chilly around Halloween, these are always a big hit. Have fun!!!

  • I agree, costumes mandatory for sure! I love the spooky themed food, and there are a ton of great ideas out there. Maybe some "monster mash" type music and a fog machine. I went to one party where the bathroom was decorated like a crime scene.....If there are kids coming, you could buy a bunch of those little pumpkins and have markers/paint/feathers/glitter etc to decorate them.

I can't wait to have one when DD is older!

  • We're having a $5 Halloween party this year - you have to get your costume from a thrift store or Goodwill, etc.  If you're not in costume, we'll put you in one ... from a thrift store.  We have some pretty crazy friends so this should be interesting.  I put the event notice out today on Facebook to give everybody lots of time.
