Bummed.

So I KNOW short sales can take forever, but it's been 3 months with no word AT ALL.  (oh, they did tell us they have all our paperwork..woop de do)

It was our DREAM home and we are going to go out this weekend to go see more because we have a feeling this isn't going to end well.  Sigh.

Maybe we'll find something better.

Re: Bummed.

  • I'm not much help but wanted to let you know you're not alone!  We put in our offer on a SS in mid-July...got approval from the seller pretty quickly...STILL waiting on the bank...who has our paperwork...

Hang in there!  If it is meant to be "your house", everything will work out Big Smile

  • Ours took six months and we wound up canceling the deal because we were fed up. And it wasn't our dream house anyway, otherwise we would've waited longer.

Meanwhile, our friends bought a short sale and everything was done in three months and they moved in without any problems. So there's no "normal" with short sales.

I was lucky, my short sale took 2 months to close.

OP, if it is truly your dream house. its probably worth the wait.  Your process is probably half over (or more) at this point.

  • It was at least four months before we even heard anything on our short sale offer. They did the BPO at about the 4 month mark and then it took about 3 weeks to hear the results from that. We had to up our offer last week and submitted the new paperwork for that. Now we're just waiting again. It's a wonderful house and we really love it. We definitely don't want to give up on it b/c everything else in our area in our price range is either crap or short sales.
  • I was four months in and they still hadn't submitted the ss package.
