That's what I'd call a "God thing". Congrats!

My mini-AW is that I woke up really early, feeling awesome, without aid of alarm or baby.

My secondary AW is hopefully coming later... I'm gettin' muh hairs did and I'm excited for the change! :)

  • Meghan, that is awesome!  Keeping my fingers crossed it works out for you.

Chelsea, I love mornings like that, and cant wait to see the hair.

My AW (which some of you may have seen on fb) is that yesterday was my one year anniversary at my company.  It is SO crazy because I vividly remember putting in my notice at my last job after 5 years and being terrified I would never find another place I loved as much.  A year in I can confidently say the grass is greener. Big Smile

  • Congratulations to everyone this week!

Even though I am sick as a dog due to the weather change and the smoke, I'm still fairly perky.  I don't know why.

Bill "graduates" tonight from a series of seminars that his company signed him up for.  He had to read a whole bunch of thick management books, go to classes on a Thursday/Friday once a month, and he'll go to Orlando in November for the national "graduation".  This is a big deal because they limit each region's class size AND it costs quite a bit of money to enroll an employee.  Never mind the fact that his company enrolled him in this course after he'd been there about two weeks!!!!  Plus, he finally applied for the job on Monday.  They have four openings for directors and he thinks he could be an honest candidate for one of them.  We'll see how that one goes!

  • Wow a lot of great work AWs today! Congrats to the Nesties and their husbands!

Chelsea - You have to post pics of the hair after the cut.

I really don't have an AW. I'm alive, healthy, working, and that's all great to me.

  • I'm with Deepthi, not too much going on.

My running is going great since it has cooled off, I'm really enjoying it and I'm back up to a slow 5k.  In another week or two I think I will start bridge to 10K.

My kitchen floor is half torn out.   I really need to pick a tile, pronto.  I'm thinking neutral and simple is going to be the best route..but I really don't know.

  • Are you thinking stone, tile, or wood??

This is always nice since you want something neutral

    image

Who doesn't love the wood look?

  • Good news girls. Congrats!

I don't really have anything this week. I planned to start B210k yesterday but when I got to the park it was like I was running through Jell-o and I got so tired so quickly. I just did a bad 3 miles and called it a day. I hate that I lose 4 workout days every month to the wicked witch.

  • Great news everyone!

Can't wait to see pictures Chelsea.

What a relief Meghan...good luck to your husband next week.

I can't believe it's only been a year BL.  It feels like you have been here forever.

Good luck with choosing Tiffany.  My plan is to have cork board floors when we remodel but I have not done much research whatsoever.

I'm assuming you'll be tagging along with Bill to visit Disney World, Julie?

The only thing I have is that I thought my new name brand BC was going to cost me $66/month but it's really $66 for a 3 month supply, which is cheaper than my old generic.  With that news, I am very happy.

My VitaMix also arrived last night.

  • Deepthi -   We are going with tile.  We already have wood in our adjoining living room and I want to break it up some.

Our cabinets are really light colored, so I'm having difficulty picking a tile.    I'm on a virtual kitchen designer site right now, and it is helping a little.

You could always stain/paint your cabinets if you want something darker.

We considered stain but we have enough projects on our plate right now.    I'm not a big fan of painted wood so that is out.

  • I don't have an AW, but I am so sad today.  In my hometown, there is a sweet sweet couple who moved here from Turkey a couple years ago and opened a little Italian place.  The food is amazing, and they are such nice people.  We had our rehearsal dinner there, and they closed early and let us take over the whole place - with just wedding party & immediate family, it was full.  They even got us a gift, which was completely unexpected but very sweet.  Fast forward a couple months...  They were having trouble conceiving, so they went back to Turkey for fertility treatments.  The treatments were successful, and she got pregnant with twins.  They were scheduled for induction Tuesday, I believe, but came a little early over the weekend.  Yesterday, I hear (via FB) that she is in the hospital with a life-threatening condition, no further details available, but the poster requested prayer for her.  This morning, I found out that she passed away during the night.  I still have no idea what happened, but I am so sad about the whole situation.  They were so sweet - the kind of folks who would come out of the kitchen at the restaurant for a quick hug and hello and then get back to cooking.  I think that the entire town loves them, which is saying something in a small town.  I just feel terrible for him and those sweet new babies.

I'm not much for painted wood either but there is some classy looking stuff out there if you do it right.

Angie, that is so heartbreaking. I'm in tears... I can't even imagine. I'll definitely be praying for the family.

  • Congrats everyone.

Angie - I am so sorry to hear that - how incredibly sad.  Lots of T&Ps for her family.  :(

This makes me so upset! I will pray for peace for these people.

    Amen! :)

My AW today is that I was FINALLY able to have an awesome hair day after getting my hair chopped off.  I've been used to having long hair all my life, and I'm still adjusting to the short new 'do.  Today was a success. Thank you, BaByliss.

Angie, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.  T&P's to you, them, and their families.

  • Sometimes FB is a terrible thing.  I am now hearing (from my mom) that this lady might be in a coma but still alive - she said they just don't know what is going on.  Her condition, whatever it is, is the result of a heart attack and then passing a blood clot.  I'd appreciate your continued T&Ps though!

  • Congrats to everyone on the AWs!

Angie - My thoughts and prayers to him, those twins and their family.  That is so heartbreaking.

  • You know how I had the random quiliting bug the other day? I researched places for quilting classes near me and came up with nothing.

This morning I was driving down the main road by our house and saw that the newly opened antique mall/tea room was also a quilt shop. I just googled it and they have quilting classes!

This place is like a quarter mile from my house, so I am excited!

This sounds like so much fun!  I have always wanted to learn to sew better.  I can work my machine enoung for curtains and costumes that only need to look good from far away.

Julie, is this part of the NC thing or is that separate?  What is the status on that?

  • Shortgirl,

Yep, I'm going to Disney World!  Again....on my birthday!

    Stephie,

This "course" is separate from the job opportunity in NC.  The course is regarded as top notch so I'm very proud of him.  I asked if there was going to be caps and gowns and music and he just rolled his eyes.

    Angie,

    That is heartbreaking!  Just heartbreaking!

My grandmother painted a picture that hung in my nursery and made me a stuffed dinosaur that I love so much. Both are done in red, green and blue and my mom gave them to me when she found out we were trying. I have been looking for bedding that would go with them and this takes the cake. I just got a pinterest account and I am about to pin this all up in my first board. Haha!

I think DH would think I was crazy if I started stalking up on baby supplies.. I so want to.
