It's only for a month, but I don't care. I'm so happy to be going to work on Monday. Then I'll only have one more month I'm able to work once this on is done.
Whee!
Now here's my dilemma. Work is 5 miles away. I'm too cheap to pay for the bus both ways. Should I bike there and back (would have to check out the route first, and biking hurts my knees), or should I bus there and run home?
Happy dance!

Re: I got a job!
Congrats!
I would totally bike there. Why does biking hurt your knees? Its very easy on the knees if your seat is properly adjusted. I suggest googling how to set the seat and enlisting a friend or the boy to help you sort out the angles. If you need help, message me on FB!
I've got patella femoral syndrome, which means that the bone and cartilage in my knee rub together when I do certain things (walk uphill, bike, skate, go up stairs etc). I've always done stuff anyway, like play hockey, but it hurts and will always hurt.
It sucks because I would love to do spinning.
Basically no damage is being done, so it's just a matter of me sucking up the pain.
I have this too but have never had an issue on a bike. Hmm...
Well, if you do choose to bike, make sure that your seat is high enough and far enough back so that your knee is over the "ball" of your toe when your foot is in the 3 o'clock "forward" position. That should help reduce some strain and rubbing.
I think part of the problem with the bike I currently have is that I am le poor, and my bike is prob a bit too small for me. But it's all I've got.
Even when I did have a proper bike it hurt. I hate my knees all kinds of hate.
But i do generally just suck it up.
I'll take a look at my seat to make sure it's as well positioned as it can be.
Thanks
Yayy!!
/i'd go by bus and run home!
Hmm, are you my [hot] body twin? I had my knee scoped at 14 and, while they didn't use big fancy medical terms like that, they did say I had the knees of a 60 year old. Half my life ago.
My knee pain stemmed from cartilage having chipped away and bone-on-bone action happening.
In your case I think I'd bus to work and jog home. You're a joggin' lady. And biking in Edinburgh traffic freaks me the F out.
Hurray!
I vote the bus and run just because then you won't be all sweaty when you get to work. But it depends on where exactly it is and what the options are for getting back and forth.

You should definitely bike there.
