Removing snaps from onesies...

...is a pita.

Does anyone know of a way to do it... besides cutting them off?

I really didn't want to cut them, but I need the snaps off so that I can repurpose them for Halloween costume parts.

Just to clarify, I don't care about the snaps...it's the onesie that I am using and wanted to stay intact, because the shape works for me. Stick out tongue

  • Can you cut the snaps and then sew it together or hem where the snaps were?

  • It has binding on the edge that I was trying to keep.   I can cut it and bind it with something else, but it was going to save a few steps.

You know how it goes....you spend three hours trying to do something that will save you 10 minutes. Wink

I think I have a new idea of how to finish the edge, so I'll give up before I wind up needing stitches or something.

Oh, yeah...I've spent hours on a project ony to toss it in the closet to be forgotten because it wasn't working the way I wanted it to!
Now, if I could just step away from the Pinterest (finding yet more projects that will likely never be done).....

  • Flat head screwdriver.  Tap it between the two pieces that make up each part of the snap.

I tried that, without success.  I gave up on that pretty quickly though....I have a history of injuring myself with screwdrivers when I use them to pry stuff. Stick out tongue

I have never in my life come across snaps so tightly applied...and they were just 99 cent onesies.lol
