Sorry, another wedding related question - no bouquets?

Has anyone been part of or attended a wedding where the bridesmaids didn't carry bouquets? Were you uncomfortable or anything during the ceremony? My brother is getting married next weekend and his fiance doesn't want us to carry bouquets. I'm just really worried about fidgeting during the ceremony. She told me that we could put our hands in the pockets on our dresses.

Yep, my bridesmaids didn't have bouquets. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on flowers, so we just got a small bouquet for me and some very minimal centerpieces for the reception. The bridesmaids were fine during the ceremony (one of them actually was holding my bouquet for me). It really wasn't a big deal.

Putting your hands in your pockets seems like a strange suggestion.  I would think it'd be better to be clasping them in front of you like the groomsmen usually do.

I agree. It would look really odd in pictures to have bridesmaids with their hands in their pockets.

Yeah I am wondering about the pictures as well, but I suppose it will be fine. I doubt any of us will use the pocket suggestion. I know it's not a cost issue, she is just tired of making decisions, which I completely understand. I am not even certain she is carrying a bouquet.

Regardless of the reason, I don't think it's a big issue. People are going to be looking at her for the most part. I think clasping your hands in front of you is fine if you're concerned about photos.

Very true. I've just never heard of it or been to a wedding without them, so I thought I'd ask around here.
