Happy Friday

Yay for Friday!

Plans this weekend?

I am having my in-laws over this weekend, and they are taking us out to dinner Saturday night.

Sunday my parents are coming over.

Re: Happy Friday

  • CDC, you have a weekend of family fun, huh?

This afternoon, MIL is coming over to watch DS so I can run some errands and get some stuff done around the house.

Saturday, I think DH has a long list of stuff to get done around the house, so DS and I will probably find something to do.

Sunday we are having an open house, so we'll be dropping DoggyE off at my mother's house and going to a bunch of different open houses ourselves.

  • Tomorrow-- we have a bar mitzvah. DH hates me because I'm dragging him there (in his defense, I told the person that we would come to the ceremony and she interpreted that as "if I haven't had the baby yet, I'll be there w/bells on").

That's our only plans... maybe I'll pack my hospital bag tonight... I really want a pedicure as well. My mom was hoping we'd come over for a visit on Sunday but I doubt DH will be jumping for joy for that one either. We're going to have lots o' family time soon enough!

I love looking at real estate.

I know a lot of people say you have plenty of time to pack once you go into labor, but I'm a supporter of packing ahead of time. I was happy it was done. Even though I labored at home for about 6 hours, it was nice that I didn't have anything to do. I laid in bed playing a Sudoku book and wrote the times of my contractions on the edges of the pages LOL

Me too! Our realtor (who is a friend) keeps saying that I'm going to fall in love with a house and I should wait until we have an offer on our house. I told him I look at houses every weekend, whether I'm moving or not, because Open Housing is a recreational activity for me.

I've been meaning too! I am a major slacker.

  • mesa and cdc, you guys are getting so close; I'm excited! Smile (is that weird?)

Good luck with the house hunting and selling, LadyE.  Was it a pain to get the house ready for showings?

We have friends arriving tomorrow night to stay with us for a few days.  While we both love having people visit and stay, I'm glad these will be the last guests for a little while.  There have been a parade of people through our place lately and I'm a bit worn out.

So we'll be spending most of the weekend hanging out with them doing touristy stuff, eating, etc.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Oh, and I forgot to mention that DH and I finally made it over to Sofra last weekend!  It wasn't as amazing as I was hoping, but I think I need to give it another try.  I had a blueberry coffee cake and it was just OK; if any of you knows Hobee's on the west coast, there's is so much better.

And of course I had to get the chocolate hazelnut baklava after we talked about it last week.  I probably should have eaten it fresh, but, c'mon, I couldn't have it for breakfast!  So it sat until that night and it wasn't as crispy as I would have liked as a result but it definitely had a rich, chocolatey taste.

I'm excited for our new Boston babies, too! So if you're weird, then I am too!

And thanks. I don't feel ready for an open house, but I know it will be fine. I'll get a lot of time to clean this afternoon, so that will be good. I want to wash the walls and stuff, KWIM? Not that they look dirty or anything, but it would just make me feel better about having people walk through my house.

No surprise that you have a busy weekend, Rock! LOL you're always up to something!

  • Good luck with the family time this weekend, CDC!  And good luck with the open house, LadyE!

We have absolutely nothing planned this weekend, which is great. I've worked the last two and have been sick, and I have busy weekends the next three, so we're going to take it easy. If I feel up to it on Saturday, we may go to see The Help, and then head to Picco for lunch. But right now, that's a big if.

  • I have some freelance work to do, but we're hoping to sneak some time in to head into Boston and play for a few hours.

And there's an open house in Walpole I'm dying to go to. It's a gorgeous old Victorian and I want to see inside :)

  • Thanks everyone for being excited!

Rock--you have so many overnight guests!  We have only had overnight guests once ever, and I am hoping that will be the last.  I like my personal space.  Ha ha ha.

Yeah, we kind of do.  It just so happened that there were a lot packed into a smallish time frame these last couple of months too so it probably seems kind of exaggerated :)

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Saturday the 'rents are coming over for a BBQ. Then Sunday the whole family is going to King Richard's Faire in Carver. Can't wait for mead!

I've always loved looking at houses too! Probably because when I was younger my parents would spend the summer looking at homes for us to move, so I was always going to open houses and such.  Funny thing is, we never ended up moving, they owned the same house until I was 27.

DH has band practice tonight in NH, and maybe catching a show in Worcester on the way home.  Tomorrow is cleaning and football.

Sunday is the official start of Sunday football and we are having a little shindig/cookout (hence the cleaning).  Looking forward to finally having people over to the new place and seeing some friends we haven't seen much of lately.

Which one? I've been inside the Butch Songin one and it's nice (but a little dated IMHO). I haven't seen the one in Dutton Park but I'm sure it's nice because that's a gated community.
  • Nothing and it feels great.  DH is staying in Worcester, so I am a single woman this weekend.

  • Everyone has busy weekends!

I had breakfast with a friend this morning and a playdate this afternoon- nice catch up with some girlfriends while the babies played.

Some friends came over for dinner tonight- we made some good stuff on the grill and I made fried green tomatoes (yum)

I am not sure what we are up to for the rest of the weekend though...

  • CDC & mesa - My goodness! I can't believe that you are both so close to holding your little ones!  I am also looking forward to hearing about their arrivals.  I hope you can both enjoy the time you have before your LOs are born.  I remember going back and forth depending on the day whether I was calm or impatient.

We have no major plans for the weekend.  We may join my cousins to go apple picking.
