Purse boy and I are getting married!

We are doing everything literally backwards (long story)!!! He moved in for good instead of being in a "stayover relationship" for over a year (it was in an article on CNN or something). Due to wanting to marry at a popular church during a specific month that our chosen photographer is not booked, we decided to secure the date, without the formal ring first! Whatever I say I will do, I end up doing the opposite! Embarrassed

Has anyone been to a wedding at the Willard? They cost a pretty penny, but for what it includes, I don't even have to lift a finger the day of. It evens out without having to coordinate all the vendors or even pay OFP for a DOC and they do cater to small weddings without a huge minimum.

I'm so excited I can't believe it! It is a long year away though.

Back story for those who don't know. We met 6 years ago. I was engaged to someone else and soon moving here when I visiting at a friend's housewarming party. It was nearly instant, but without emotion, that I knew he was the one. He was married. Initially, I was like WTF and brushed it off for years and actually forgot all about it. 2 years later, his wife died rather suddenly, no good bye, had to turn off the machines. He was totally devastated. Out of the blue a few months later, my exDH threw me into a wall at a party. That began the final stage of the downward spiraling break up of our marriage. I clearly remember the day just barely 2 months after we got married I knew something changed in my ex but thought it was just a temporary setback. He did not like me being ?ahead? of him and that didn't surface until after we married. The oddest thing, both purse boy's and my first marriage lasted 2 years and 11 months each. I actually had to google back in the day! This is a C&P Now, I had asked the ladies, and even my coworkers who love to tease me, about men buying gifts. I've gotten very cute and little gifts over times; the cutest one was a rabbit hat I got at the start of the February snowstorm. (I should post this one but I'm on my work PC - Oh it was so cute I actually wore it while snow digging during the snowmageddon a year and half ago!) He is the nice guy type rather than the arrogant one (just like the recent article on CNN under living). He?s wonderful, just a tiny bit still emotionally unavailable, and afraid to lose again. What threw me for a loop was an unexpected gift over the weekend of a horse wine stopper and a cute purse (not expensive). He wrote thanks! I asked, what did I do? He said he was out in a historic town and saw those and thought of me. He did tell me once out of the blue a while back that he has a hard time expressing feelings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  After this, for the longest time he was slooooowly becoming more emotionally available. It took him 9 whole months to finally tell me <3. Sort of made me panic at times, so afraid of waiting for nothing to happen between us. Now, it?s totally different than when he shyly gave me that purse. The most recent ?gift? was giving me $100 bucks to go shopping while in Atlantic City and yup, I headed to the Coach outlet. Failing to find anything purse worthy, I saw the one, the trench coat. I paid $101 bucks!!!!!! Lurrrrve! I talk too much. I know I rarely post, but I do keep up with you ladies!
  • Congratulations! And what a sweet love story. Smile
