Impressive, light dessert recommendations?

Can you recommend your favorite or impressive light dessert? For Monday evening, I volunteered to bring a light dessert to a dinner party.  Here are my desired qualifications:

1. Homemade or store bought is fine (prefer something I make/put together though)
2. Make day before (dinner party Monday night after work)
3. "Light" to compliment a "Fancy Cobb Salad as entree" menu (no lava cake here!)
4. Is impressive (I don't mind something that's involved or advanced since the dinner party is with a friend who's a pro chef)

I've never had a pavlova, but it's the first thing that came to mind.

A rustic fruit tart is always good.  I've made this one and people luuuuved it.

Or maybe shortbread tarts.

A fruit trifle?  There are oodles of recipes, but it's basically break up some pound cake, layer with fruit and pudding.

Ooo you could do a triffle with layers of angel food cake, vanilla pudding folded with whipped cream, fresh strawberries and topped with more whipped cream and toasted almond slivers.

I always take on of the Tastefully Simple sweet cheese ball mixes (like the Key Lime Pie one), mix it with the cream cheese, fold in cool whip...and put in graham cracker crust. Very light and refreshing...if you had something like that laying around.

so easy, serve it with green apple slices. literally takes about 5 min. so make it when everyone's done with dinner.
