Re: ***freckleval***
I feel old... ha ha..
I grew up on the eastside right off Novelty Hill with horses and did 4-H in Snohomish County. To this day, I realize sno co was the BEST 4-H county in the nation. When I was 16, halfway thru JR year my folks suddenly changed their plans from when I was to graduate hs/college to NOW and sold their house and bought a waterfront home and still live there. I had to switch high schools at Christmas time, not a good idea I advise you! AHHH! But it was a blessing in disguise, really. I was lonely and it was difficult but that wasn't until I moved did I realize how bad it was. The old nesties know I'm deaf. I followed the girls and went to college in LA while the boys went to DC or NY. At the time, I thought it was tooo far from my horse!
I grew up with my exDH in elem school and since I am 5 years older, I didn't see him for a good 10 years and we met again at the school reunion. Got married, umm that didn't last as long as our dating length. Sometimes I feel bad I let it progress into marriage because at the time it was more about the idea of being married (that took a long time to realize that). He was a good boyfriend?Once I realized he hated me being ?ahead? and oh so many things including a surprise throw into the wall, I had to end it. No kids. I had moved to DC after being engaged partly to grab my experience working at my agency's HQ with the intent of moving back on a 5 year plan. Because I knew exDH would never want to move back to DC so I moved while he was just about to finish college. Yeah, well that changed... The irony, he still lives here...
I hang on the DC board so I occasionally share my beloved 'purse boy' stories. I am getting married next fall to a widower who lost his wife rather suddenly to meningitis about 4 years ago. He got the nickname purse boy because he was soo shy and afraid of loss/rejection (typical with widows) when one day he got me a cute purse and a rabbit hat. I met him 6 years ago and knew instantly he was the one, without any emotion. Yet, he was married and I was fricking engaged!? Brushed that off and totally forgot about it until after my marriage fell apart. We have it backwards, it was a rough, not rocky, beginning. What are we? Friends, lovers, bf/gf, etc!?
Umm, I seem to beging my para's with I... LOL! Forgive me!
The purse boy story is cute
Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
