Sea Glass Project

Hi all! I'm looking for some ideas on how I can make my own drawer knobs for the dresser we'll be putting in the nursery. We are avid collectors of sea glass so I'd like to somehow make sea glass knobs but I'm not sure how I can do this. It's been done before as you can see below but I'm not sure how I can do this. Any ideas?

  • Sorry for such a large picture, I don't know why it turned out that way.

They used stones instead of sea glass, but it looks like they used existing drawer pulls with flat surfaces and glued them on.  The used Gorilla Glue, but I'm not sure how well that would hold up?

I was thinking JB Weld? I'd just get some super basic flat knobs and glue them on.

  • It also might be interesting to drill holes into the glass and insert a screw through the hole. You would be able to see the head of the screw in the center of the glass, which might be a nice accent.

This is what I was thinking.  You can get drill bits that would work for that.

If you were to glue them, you should look for an industrial glue like the one that Debbie from HGTV's 'Debbie Decorates Dallas'  used on her show tonight.  She glued jewelry to a mirror and the frame...it was amazing stuff.
