Old Hollywood Theme Bridal Shower
Trying to put together an old hollywood/Breakfast at Tiffany's themed bridal shower. Wondering if anyone has any cool decorating or shower ideas?
Re: Old Hollywood Theme Bridal Shower
Fun idea!!
My advice would pick one theme and focus on that. For Old Hollywood, a common color scheme is red, silver, and black. Here are some random ideas, hope some of these help!
Place setting assigments: Mini "Walk of Fame" stars w/ guest name
Along with any prizes for games- Small Oscar like awards, you can probably order these online.
Centerpieces- tall vases w/ tall white feathers
Table Names- Names of your favorite old Hollywood movies
Entrance into the venu or wherever the shower is held- for like $50 you can rent a long red carpet from your local rental company. Would be fun to have the guests enter on a red carpet and really sets the mood for an Old Hollywood event!
If it's Old Hollywood, I agree that red/black/silver or gold/black/silver are the most popular color schemes. For a game, you can have people match famous couples (either real or fictional). We played this at my shower and it was easy/entertaining to do while people were eating. If you wanted to make it extra tricky and you did fictional couples, you could also do the movie (for example: Rick Blaine - Ilsa Lund - Casablanca) and people would have to correctly match the trio. You could also do a signature cocktail or two named after famous movie studios (Paramount Punch or MGM Margarita).
If it's Breakfast at Tiffany's, though, that's different -- that would be pink/black/white (like the poster and movie box). For a Tiffany's themed shower, I would also decorate using the iconic Holly Golightly pearls and sunglasses (maybe as a centerpiece?). You could create printouts of famous quotes from the movies and frame them in silver frames. Also, if it's this theme, I think you should do brunch -- play off the "breakfast" in the title.
