I've never written a thank you note after an interview before. You could say this is my first "professional" interview.
I have an interview next Thursday for the company I am currently temping for. It's for the exact position I'm a temp in. The department is divided into two regions and the person conducting the interview is the other manager (not my own) and their boss.
- Do I still send a thank you even though I work there already?
- What do I say? Since I already work there, already do the exact same job.
My manager mentioned once that she got a thank you note from an interviewee and was quite surprised by it. I don't think it's "normal" in my field?! Anyway, I don't want to come across too asskissy if you know what I mean! That's why I'm struggling with if I should send it and what exactly to say. Plus I've never done this before!
Thank you!
Re: Thank you notes?
1. Yes
2. "Thank you for meeting with me to discuss [position]. I am confident from our discussions that I will make a great permanent employee at [Company]. [[Mention something specific you discussed]] I look forward to hearing from you regarding this position. Sincerely, kermie"
IMO I'd rather send one and pleasantly surprise the person than not send one and get dinged for not thanking them for their time. You can make it less formal and send it via e-mail.

Thank you so much! You make it sound so simple! It wouldn't be the first time I've overcomplicated a situation!
