1. Do you remember your first day of kindergarten?
I remember parts of it; it's hard to differentiate between the first day and all the other days, though.
2. Have an amusing first day of school story to share with the class?
On the bus after the first day of kindergarten a girl from my neighborhood held up a plastic bag with her tooth in it and told me all about loosing it at school (including a pretty impressive sounding class celebration!). I thought that made her super cool and from then on i always wanted to lose one at school. I eventually did... in 5th grade. Wasn't so cool then, unfortunately

1. Do you remember your first day of kindergarten?
Yes very well. I had just moved here from Taiwan and did not speak an iota of English at all (not even "Hi!"). The school bus was exhilirating for me. In school, my teacher introduced me to this other girl to play with and I remembered seeing her lips move and hearing only "blah blah blah blah blah?"
2. Have an amusing first day of school story to share with the class?
Well, it did not happen in school. Like I said, I was completely new to America and to the cultures and social norms here. So while I was on the bus, I saw a mother saying good-bye to her daughter and then kiss her on the lips. I almost threw up when I saw the kiss!! In my culture, kissing was strictly for lovers only (and even then at age 5, I thought it was gross!!).
If I had kids, I definitely would kiss them, but probably not on the lips. Somethings I just cannot change!
1. Sadly, I do not remember the first day, but just parts of other days... which goes along with #2
2. I don't have a first day story, but I do remember in preschool that someone peed on the carpet, and we had a 15 minute or so discussion on who did it. In kindergarten, I remember learning how to put our folders up on the desk so no one could cheat off our spelling tests

I'm a regular lurker here, but I figured I'd chime in
1. I vaguely remember standing in the hallway with my mom, meeting the teacher. Like a pp, I was new to the country (from Belgium) and didn't know a word of English. My mom barely knew any English! I remember looking around at the artwork on the walls and my teacher smiling but having no clue what she was saying.
2. Not a first day of school story, but I remember walking home with a "friend" and we were playing at her house, screened in porch. She got mad at me for whatever reason and stuck me in the back with a sharp pencil!
